that is how the whole bless you thing got started, people believed that when you sneezed you soul was pushed out of you body and at that moment the devil could take it, so people say bless you to bless your soul so the devil wont take it.

The devil has no power over, unless you give it to him. He is always trying to influence you in your mind, and toughts.

You don't have a soul loose. God created man a living soul, the whole body is refered to as a soul, there for you can call any part of the body, soul . all the animals are also souls.

This idea came from a time when religion and philosophy were more true than science. People did not know what a sneeze was, so, in order to explain it, made up some radically twist 'demon' story in order to explain the unexplainable and give themselves something to combat. That's really all.

There is no such thing. Adam was the first man and when he was given life first of all he sneezed and said "I thank God who gave me life".

Muslims are ordered to say "all praises are for God" when they sneeze. The other who listen say "may God bless you". That is sunnah (way of prophet), if u do is good and if u dont do no sin.

u have changed a nice avtar now.

Where did you hear that story. "bless you" is the polite way of excusing a person.
From my old story pass down from friends that when you sneeze which means that someone is thinking of you at that time.

Do not believe in such thing. Some people do believe that the devil can take over your body but not your soul.

I thought i read somewhere people said "God bless you" after you sneeze because a long time ago people thought when you sneezed that it was a demon or bad spirit leaving your body.

Yes. Scientists at Oxford proved it last year and submitted the study to Nature. They have been nominated for a Nobel Prize AND a Pulitzer for their discoveries.

..."No"... that was an archaic use of words in the early 16 and 1700's out of superstition... but the "phrase" is nice anyhow....The "devil can only take over your soul if "you" allow him to... The Scripture is very, very clear... "greater is He that is in you then he that is in the World"...
