But this is what I am getting at....
First I am one of those 40 something Baby Boomers and did my fair share of things of my generation, but eventually came back to the values and principles of my parents....

Since Kids of your generation were latch key exposed to the worst TV has to offer a society that values materialism rather than the value of human life, what influences lead your life?

And don't you value the wisdom of your grandparents? since I have worked with the Geriatric Community, they have so much more wisdom and experience that people just dis-respect and blow off.

Can you prove that only ONE god exists, and only ONE god created all there is? There are many different versions of the creation story, and all have adherents that believe they are true, yours is no exception. If you can't prove that YOUR specific god created all there is without the help of any of the other gods that also claim being a part of the creation process, then can you really say that the others are wrong?

Is that being honest? Or are you really just hoping that your religion isn't just speculation?

Quoting the bible doesn't help here, as anyone with a zeal for learning can find out how the bible was assembled and realize that the christian theology is based on the VOTE of people long deceased.

Now, the question is, is there any proof that YOUR god created all there is, and not someone else's god(s) that did it? If you can't prove it, when you tell someone you have the truth, aren't you really just passing off speculation?

We knew Him only as a Man. This One, Who for the last three and a half years we knew as the Christ. He healed the sick, raise the dead, fed the thousands, He said He is the bread of life, the living water, the resurrection and the life.

We saw Him after the resurrection yet our hearts quickly grew discouraged, we all went back to fishing yet time and time again He would appear to us, letting us know that He is here. He breathe into us that night of His resurrection and said" Receive the Holy Spirit" ( John 20:22) Knowing Him as the Spirit of Jesus or the Spirit of Christ or the Spirit of Jesus Christ is so different to knowing Him as the physical Jesus. But He stayed back for 40 days teaching Us His Invisible presence.

Today as believers we know the Lord Jesus the Other way around. We know Him inwardly and not outwardly. How do you think it will be for us when we behold Him face to face and what do you think of the Lord's way of teaching His disciples that He never left them.

Okay, I've sorta realized this. And no, I'm not anti-Christian or anti-American. I've been Catholic schooled for 4 years, and I'm Hindu, and plan on remaining that way forever. I'm 13.

So anyways.

Say you have a group of friends. Like High School or Middle School aged friends. Out of that group of like 10 people, one of them is Jewish or Muslim or Hindu or Buddhist. The rest of the kids are some Christian denomination.
I've noticed, that the kid who isn't Christian, feels ashamed or embarassed that they are another religion.
Example: Say that group of friends plans on going out to dinner or a movie one night. But the non-Christian kid can't come because there is some religious festival going on. I've realized in myself, and other of my friends, that they feel bad about that. Then the Christian kids make fun of their non-Christian friend. But if it's vise versa, it's like the non Christian kids already knows there's a Christian holiday coming up.

Fundies constantly harp that gay marriage will ruin the sanctity of marriage....

That aside, don't you think the sanctity of marriage has already been ruined...once the divorce rate climbed past 50%? Newsweek reports that the divorce rate among pastors is at the same level of the secular world.

So, why isn't there a public outcry about divorce....I Corinthians 6:9 used to condemn homosexuals, also states that adulterers will not inherit the kingdom of God...and Luke 16:18 says any who divorces and remarries is committing adultery..likewise those that marry a divorced person is committing adultery.

So, why don't we hear you fundies rail against divorce like you do against homosexuality.

As a homosexual..I am told the only way to go to heaven is to turn from my supposed sin....

Likewise, the only way for the divorced to go to heaven is to turn from their supposed sin ...so, for a divorced person, they would have to remain celibate to go to heaven.

Where are you fundies

Now Remember God is the one that created you & all that you see about you (Daniel 7:9-10) . . .I kept on beholding until there were thrones placed and the Ancient of Days sat down. . 10 There was a stream of fire flowing and going out from before him. There were a thousand thousands that kept ministering to him, and ten thousand times ten thousand that kept standing right before him.

now this is what God did to someone who had direct
knowledge of not touching the Ark of the Covenant

2 Sam 6: 6 And they came gradually as far as the threshing floor of Na′con, and Uz′zah now thrust [his hand] out to the ark of the [true] God and grabbed hold of it, for the cattle nearly caused an upset. 7 At that Jehovah’s anger blazed against Uz′zah and the [true] God struck him down there for the irreverent act

"Timmy!" Timmy's mom called."Get dressed! It's time for Church training!" "Coming Mom!" Timmy quickly got dressed and got his stuff for Church Training. He ran down the stairs and out the door. Once outside, he ran to the car and opened the door. He slipped on his seatbelt and waited patiently. Soon his mother came out and got in the driver's seat. They talked small talk and soon they were at the Church. Timmy got out of the car and ran inside with all the other kids. (I've never been to church so I'm only going to give you the gstalt of it. ) Over the next few years, Timmy learned to be kind and passionate to other CHRISTIANS. To every one else, he must be rude and mean and try to shove his religion down other's throats. He also learned that if he doubted god for only a second he would be condemned to torture for the rest of eternity.

I just want to take a quick poll and see how many people can detect the problem in this situation.

It seems to me that there is a hypocrisy at the heart of christianity in that the Church of Christ which was designed to bring about a brotherhood of man has been broken into competing factions.

Will all christians eventually be reunited into one church?

My life-long best friend who was raised in a southern Baptist home is the oldest of 5 children (her parents did not believe in birth control until after the 5th child). The youngest of those children is now 11 years old. He, over the last few months, has been seriously plagued with hallucinations of demons and dreams about Satan. He has lost a considerable amount of sleep, his grades have slipped, he has pushed his friends away, and his attitude has gotten very sour toward his parents.

Is this the result of an effective and necessary scare tactic to save this child from Hell, or the result of years of feeding this kid lies?

This question is intended for those who are spiritual, yet non-religious.

What practices or techniques help you or have helped you to grow spiritually?
Do you practice meditation or things of that nature?
Do you have a person or mentor that has guided you spiritually and how did you find that person?
Have you read certain texts that you feel have helped you learn and grow spiritually?

(I apologize for all the questions but I tried to condense this as much as possible and still ask everything I wanted to know.)
