I do believe that I believe in God. I feel spiritual at times. However I do not believe in the Bible, I completely disagree with organized religion and when someone preaches to me I either fall alseep or feel the need to defend athiests. I call myself agnostic but since I do believe in God I don't feel that is the correct term really. But there doesn't seem to be another term that is even close. Someone just told me that it is not possible to believe in God yet not be religeous in some way. Not really sure how to word the question here. I guess I just want to know how others think - can a person believe in God yet completey abhor religion & disregard the Bible as rubbish.
You should also know that while I believe in a God I do not believe that He/She/It/Whatever is all powerful. What do you think? Please would like answers from all - religious people, agnostics, and athiests. Thanks in advance.

I'm honestly wondering... do you accept any scientific theories as fact and reality or do you consider any and all as "just a guess, a speculation"?

Or do you reject evolution more because you feel it conflicts with your religious outlook and less because of it's "theory" status?

Why is it that all Christian male avatars look exactly the same? The ones that ask "are you saved?"...they all look the SAME!

anyone else noticed this?

Conquer,Convert or kill them.

"The three-in-one/one-in-three mystery of Father, Son and Holy Ghost made tritheism official. The subsequent almost-deification of the Virgin Mary made it quatrotheism . . . Finally, cart-loads of saints raised to quarter-deification turned Christianity into plain old-fashioned polytheism. By the time of the Crusades, it was the most polytheistic religion to ever have existed, with the possible exception of Hinduism.

This untenable contradiction between the assertion of monotheism and the reality of polytheism was dealt with by accusing other religions of the Christian fault.

The Church - Catholic and later Protestant - turned aggressively on the two most clearly monotheistic religions in view - Judaism and Islam - and persecuted them as heathen or pagan.

The external history of Christianity consists largely of accusations that other religions rely on the worship of more than one god and therefore not the true God.

These “pagans” (Islam and Judaism) must therefore be converted, conquered and/or killed for their own good in order that they benefit from the singularity of the Holy Trinity, plus appendages." -- The Doubter's Companion (John Ralston Saul)

Lot of time, as I spend reading the word and prayer, I tell God that I won't do this and that. I see myself, asking God to forgive me, confessing my sins and asking him to renew my first love for him. I exhale my sins and inhale the word. But lot of times, I see myself, falling into temptation, doing same sins over again. (too much time into internet, not having a loving heart, putting other priority first other than God. How can I be pure, experience his power, love? it seems like when I make commitment, it seems temporily. How can I feel not defeated? I spent time doing quite times/ prayer but how can I really be Christ minded?

I received two similar gifts on the same day from two entirely different individuals with two entirely different spiritual practices...

Just today, I received a small bag of dirt with soil from the "Holy Land" from my aunt. She said it was blessed by a priest.

Later today, I received in the mail a gift from a friend who lives in Canada, who gave me the exact same thing -- a small bag of dirt, only it's from Tibet, and it was blessed by a Tibetan monk...

I feel very blessed. I sense this is a good omen ... but what could it mean?

are similar to those people who deny that we landed on the moon. Despite the overwhelming evidence that both evolution and the moon landings are real things, there are still people who deny these things. I bet these people would still deny evolution even if God himself came down and said evolution is for real.

I'm an agnostic because I DON'T KNOW IF THERE IS A GOD! We're not fence-sitters or chickens who are afraid to say we believe or don't! There's nothing wrong with having the balls to say I don't know if there's a God!

Besides Christians, Muslims & other theists alike, shouldn't bash us but should be drooling over agnostics! You might be able to convert us! But probably not.

I'm a free-thinker. I've studied many other religions and found none that quite "do it" for me. Especially the religions with the stories that were originally written for uneducated goat shepherds, basket-weavers and brick-makers. Those tales just so,o,o,o DO NOT apply to the 21st century human anymore!

I've even studied a lot of philosophy. Man, does THAT ever screw with your head! LOL

But, to say we are non-committal! That's harsh. We just don't believe in only "black or white." Nothin' wrong with a little gray area! It's like a foot in the door of your mind.

What say you?

Let me get this straight. According to Christians, the original sin was never about the consequence of eating the fruit of knowledge but rather the actual act of eating the fruit. Adam sinned by eating the fruit, not because he was filled with the knowledge of sin FROM the fruit. So this means that the core source of original sin is "freedom of choice". That means God implanted original sin in Adam. If you Christians say that humans are borned sinful then we are borned just as equal to the perfect human "Adam", who was born sinful. Adam was not sinful in the beginning but he became sinful. Same for humans, we are not sinning to start off with but we eventually sin. Angels are also born sinful, look at Lucifer and his diciples. They sinned, and so did the perfect creation like Adam. Sin and free will are inseperable. Why? Because even Adam, who was the perfect creation, and angels who got free will sinned. So my question is...
