How can you reconcile with the fact that some stars are hundreds of thousands of light years away, and galaxies are millions of light years away? If we can see them, then the light must have travelled that far, which means that they have been around much longer than 10000 years (Young Earth estimate of age of Earth).

Because I know you'll try to use this:
Star distances can be approximated by parallax, which is irrefutable, even with a very rough measurement of the distance to the sun. Measurement of distances to galaxies are tricker, but not even requirement for my argument. Read about parallax!

In the Canoga Park area of LA there are five places of worship within just a few blocks of each other. One such place is a Lutheran Church. Across the street from it is a Hindu Temple. A block to the South is a Unitarian Church and a block over is a Muslin Temple. On the next street over is a Jewish Synagogue. The people who attend these separate congregations don’t look down on the other denominations, don’t protest or ridicule those who don’t share their own beliefs and, in fact, sometimes visit each other as a goodwill gesture.

The reasons why such an environment like this can exist is because none of these religious denominations are fundamentalist, none are filled with fundamentalist nutcases (Christian, Jewish, Muslin or otherwise) who believe only they are right and only they are blessed by God.

Surely God must smile down on these good folks. Don’t you agree?

It seems like the God of the old testament was looking for a certain quality among mankind.

Life and death meant nothing too him, clean off a spot and start over.

What was expected of man to find mercy from the God of the old testament?

To be honest with everyone.... there is no way on earth we can stop global warming from destroying us.
The only thing we can do now is maybe try and put it off for as long as possible, but everyone would have to live in complete poverty for it to work.
Its the inconvenient truth and i think everyone is trying to make an optimistic view about it... but... its too late to save us i'm afraid.
I hope some of you can see my point and won't think i'm crazy to think these things.

What are all your ideas about global warming?

By the way, i'm not as miserable as i sound lol.

Everyone has a disease. That disease is sin. This disease of sin is fatal. Do you say you have never sinned and you are a good person? The bible says no one is good not one.
The Bible says that God has a standard that he will judge you by on your appointed day of death. It’s called the Ten Commandments. Let’s see how you will do. Have you ever told a lie? (Including white lies and fibs) Have you ever stolen anything? (no matter the value) The third Commandment is “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain”. Have you ever used His name as a curse word to express disgust? The seventh Commandment is “You shall not commit adultery”, but Jesus said “If you look upon a woman to lust after her you’ve already committed adultery with her in your heart”. Have you ever looked at another person with lust or desire? If you said 'yes' to these four questions, then by your own admission you’re a lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterer-at-heart, and we’ve only looked at four of the Ten Commandments. On Judgment Day, if God were to judge you by those standards, would you be innocent or guilty? Would you go to Heaven or Hell?

The Bible says that you would be guilty, that means hell. Know that God, the just judge of the universe, is also rich in mercy. He sent His Son Jesus to suffer and die on the cross on your behalf to take the punishment for your sins. He paid your fine with His life's blood. That means God can commute your death sentence. He can allow you to live because of what Jesus did on the cross. Through His death and resurrection, God can now dismiss your case. He can forgive your sins and allow you to live. So what must you do? You must repent - turn from your sins. Don't just confess your sins to God; confess and forsake them. Don't just believe in Jesus - trust in Him, like you would trust in a parachute to save you. You don't just believe in a parachute, you put your trust into it! That's what you must do with the savior. Then get a Bible and read it daily, and obey what you read

The best man arranges a bachelor party for the groom.
men hold a stag party which includes lots of drinking, telling of dirty jokes and often either pornographic films or strippers. The bachelorette party’s are getting more similar to the men’s stag party. They traditional entailed good food and simple female fun. Today, it is not unusual for a male stripper to appear at the bride’s bachelorette party.
*If you say it's just one of those innocent fun's, than you're not obeying God's Word the Holy Bible and thus you are fulling yourself of being a true Christian*

What happens after you die? Why do you think this?
A) Nothing
B) God will save you if you repent and believe
C) You are your own God and will save yourself
These are the only 3 logical answers there are. If you die there has to be some type of power to save you or you will have to save yourself. Think about it. Jesus is the only way!

I don't believe secular psychology holds water, so I was wondering how we should define our modern notion of "addiction" from a biblical (i.e. True) standpoint. In other words, are there biblical precedents for addiction? Were there any bible characters who couldn't stop doing something even when they wanted to? Or is it just "sin" and "the lusts of the flesh" taking over? How is "addiction" -- not being able to stop a behavior even though you want to -- explained by God? I'm tired of talk therapists defining reality for us. I want God's Word to speak into this phenomenon. Thanks.

I have difficulties in comprehending how people condemn Catholics to hell because of the beliefs they retain. Where does the basis for such a belief come from? For every argument against the Catholic faith, there is an equal, if not stronger apologetic response as to why Catholic's believe what they do. I also see, time and again, the ignorance (Here I am not referring to stupidity, far from it, I mean the official deffinition of the term: Without knowledge) of people who suggest ideas against Roman Catholic beliefs without their own investigation into the matter, it is almost as if the majority of people just come up with an argument because they are prejudiced against Catholics. (Let me add, do not argue that Catholics prejudiced against other beliefs during the dark ages...Because right around the Renassaince period forward to reformations away from Catholicism, Catholics were severely prejudiced all the way through today, so there is no point in pointing fingers around that.)

On a Christian radio talk show they were discussing the new Harry Potter book. Several callers said that when the Harry Potter books were becoming popular, many young people looked at Pagan websites and researched witchcraft. According to these callers, Christians are not even supposed to LOOK at that stuff, much less research it. My question is, if you're not going to research an opposing viewpoint, how can you argue against it, or say ANYTHING about it? Is Chrisitianity so weak that even looking into another belief is forbidden, lest the researcher be persuaded to change his/her beliefs?
