To be honest with everyone.... there is no way on earth we can stop global warming from destroying us.
The only thing we can do now is maybe try and put it off for as long as possible, but everyone would have to live in complete poverty for it to work.
Its the inconvenient truth and i think everyone is trying to make an optimistic view about it... but... its too late to save us i'm afraid.
I hope some of you can see my point and won't think i'm crazy to think these things.

What are all your ideas about global warming?

By the way, i'm not as miserable as i sound lol.

Why would people have to live in poverty? It'd probably be cheaper to drive hybrids, use less water, use solar power, and eat healthier.

Can't never did nothing! My Old Granny used to say and she was a real warm person. I like the idea of people warming up all over the world since it might let us all become friends!

Now, if you are talking about GLOBAL WARMING, then the capitalist just haven't explored how to clear the air. Imagine if you would air purifiers on the roofs of all the tall buildings in a city. This would start the cleaning process and give us time to change over to non-polluting technology.

The reason that Bush never admitted to the holes in the ozone layer and global warming is that he was giving all his capitalist cronies the chance to make as much as possible on his watch and then let the next President clean up his mess.

Car companies cannot re-gear for production of non-polluting vehicles quickly. The car companies would have to gut most of their factories and re-gear. Oil companies are not ready to go broke from not having any oil. They need time to create the sources of new fuels and lock down that technology so they can keep the next generations addicted to their product. The rich get richer and the poor get screwed. Sounds normal to me.

People should feel a great emotion about this since we are killing ourselves or should I rephrase that we are being allowed to kill ourselves based on our desire for all things needful.

ahhh...I'm skeptical about global warming, though I agree with polluting less and finding alternative energy sources. I'm not saying that the earth isn't getting warmer, I just can't say if it's definitely caused by humans.

Anyway, who are you to say that global warming will be bad? It will be a change, but I don't think there will necessarily be wide spread poverty or anything like that. Animals, including humans, are very good (as a species) adapting to change and we'll make it through the warming (if it is actually happening) just like we make it through everything else. Who knows, maybe a warmer earth will actually be better.

I happen to think that global warming is a natural cycle in earths life. Sure we're speeding it up, but hey just quit eating beef and that cuts out a lot of the global warming caused by methane. Sure we can all give up something and it might do some good, but it's going to happen no matter what we do. Worry about something you can change, like how most people think it's okay to get away with being rude just because they breathe. We all share the space, take a moment to breathe, and say hello to someone nicely. Once we get that one figured out we can start working together on the big stuff.

We NEED to build giant, indoor farms so we can grow enough food to feed our nation no matter what the weather decides to do on any given month. Pass it on.
Then we should invade Canada, they're just our suburb anyways. Lots of people will die, but maybe our species wont. We can vacation in the Canadian Tropics after the pole shifts and Russia becomes the New North Pole, right over the spot of the Tunguska Event.

Oh, it could be repaired..........But those who control most of the world can see no large profit in the doing.

An aside: I have friends with Hybrid Cars. Their monthly gasoline (petrol) bill is as high as when they were driving gas guzzlers. The oil companies are not going to forgo any path to continuing profits. Which means they believe in Global Warming and a forced issue toward high mileage and low emissions.

How refreshing! People who actually believe in global warming, and not as a scare tactic!
WOW! But, I'll tell yo what! If you ask this question in Gov, and pol.? They will laugh you off the page! Try it!

If people boycotted car manufactureres for a few months and demanded electric cars, you'd see some real big changes happen really fast.

The most powerful corps in the world don't like it when you take your toys and go play in a different sandbox.

the biggest threat to humanity, ever since about 1950, is humanity. global warming isn't going to destroy us (and there are things we could do to stop it) - it's easy to outrun sea levels rising a few centimeters a year. the most likely way we're going to be destroyed is if we do it to ourselves with nukes or maybe bioweapons. possibly global warming might trigger a war or two though.

Actually we can. If we stop putting pollution in the atmosphere, the pollution that is already in the atmosphere will die off, along with global warming.

It's all a crock of crap. It's a political attempt to control the actions of Americans and free peoples of the Earth. I know that seems conspiracy driven, but I really don't care. Politicians have lied to people before, so why not now. They even have rock bands doing it for them. The one's who were typically anti-establishment.

I see it all as bogus. People might think like you do, but I don't have to agree with it. The Bible doesn't say that the Earth will die from global warming. And there are too many prophecies that haven't happened yet; like 1007 years of more life.

So who am I to dissuade? Believe what you want.
