Um, as an athiest I agree that bachelor/bachellorette parties are wrong, but its because I have morals, not because I think god will smite me.

A bachelorette/stag party would not be a great idea. You will be subject to enough temptation once you are married why bring sand to the beach.
Mark 14:38 (Whole Chapter)
Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak."
A stag party will do nothing but bring unneccassary temptation. Spend time and party with good friends that are spiritually based.
I have been married for 21 years i have seen temptation and prayed my way through it with praise and thanksgiving
When you are tempted and you will be thank God for it and he will walk you through it it will not be easy but the reward will be so awesome.I have learned to give thanks for evrything that God brings me to both the God things and esspecially the Bad . I believe that by giving thanks for the bad things I have given that power to the Lord and therefore the evil one can not touch me.What ever you give to the Lord the evil one can not take.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 (Whole Chapter)
give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

Hate to disappoint you, but the bachelorette parties I've been to haven't had any male strippers. There is nothing wrong with drinking as long as it's done in moderation.

I don't think it's a good idea to have them. I went to a bachelorette party, and they are rather overrated. I couldn't understand a bride-to-be (or groom) spending all evening looking at naked pictures (or real-life naked bodies) of some other person.
When I was getting married, my bridesmaids offered to take me to a stripclub, but I wasn't interested. Instead we went out for dinner and coffee afterwards, and I had a great evening with my best friends.
(My groom was planning on just spending the evening before out wedding hanging out with his best friend (best man) who was from out of town, nothing sex-related. Instead they had to run all over town looking for an all-night Kinko's to have 200 copies of our wedding programs made!)

Its a sin. If you had strippers then you would be lusting. If you drank that would be fine--In less you became drunk. Jesus said being drunk was a sin. At my Bachelor party we went out on the lake and wake boarded. We went bowling and then we just went to a nice restaurant. I am a Christian though.

I'm not a true Christian but I think it is sort of sick that people who are about to get married are provided with strippers to lust after just days before the wedding.

I agree with you completely, these parties are not at all christian like. You get drunk, and you stare at other women when you have already made a commitment to another woman. You might not be married but you have still made a commitment when you got engaged and so you shouldn't drool over other girls. And you shouldn't get drunk any time.

Lasciviousness and debauchery are condemned in the Bible.
I'm thankful that people can still have a decent bridal shower that their church and community plan for them. When people are ready to take vows of marriage, they should show their committment by their own decency and purity.

I dont think that Christianity has anything to do with this. If you feel that you will be giving up so much by getting married, mabye you shouldnt be getting married at all. I spent the night before my wedding with my fiance, not a bunch of drunken idiots.

I love these answers. I never have and never will understand those who feel ogling strippers before their wedding is acceptable. It's not innocent fun!! It's wrong and totally disrespectful to your partner.

here's waht i think, it all depends on waht you do in the party. say you ahve a bachelor/rette party and you jsut hang out with friends no strippers no nothing, jsut a simple normal party...then it's all good
