Does anyone know any bible quotes that are specifically referring to reincarnation? I would appreciate it, thanks :)

Hi Kim, Reincarnation is not a Christian concept. Christianity tells us that when we die we are resurrected into Heaven. Some do believe this is a physical resurrection, which would seem to support a sort of reincarnation, but most feel it is a sort of spiritual re-birth rather than something physical. We shall all just have to wait and see. :-) Good luck!

All direct quotes dealing with reincarnation were said to have been removed from the Bible in A.D. 553 during the Second Council of Constantine.

However, some people that believe in reincarnation make an interesting case that several references still exist within the Bible. The following passages are quoted from The New International Version.

In John 9:1-2 we find,
"As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, 'Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?'"

The argument is how can a man have committed sin before birth? The assumption is made by followers of reincarnation that the man must have lived previously in order to have sinned and thus have been born blind.

There are also some interesting references to John the Baptist being the Prophet Elijah of the Old Testament made by Jesus.

However, it should be noted that Jesus often spoke in parables and metaphors, so the argument could be made that when Jesus made reference to John as being Elijah, it could have been made as a metaphor of a prophet who would be sent to announce the Messiah.

Matthew 11: 14. "And if you are willing to accept it, he is the Elijah who was to come. "

Matthew 17: 11-13 "Jesus replied, 'To be sure, Elijah comes and will restore all things. But I tell you, Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but have done to him everything they wished. In the same way the Son of Man is going to suffer at their hands.' Then the disciples understood that he was talking to them about John the Baptist."
