Is that why so many of you keep knocking on my door, or handing me Bibles in the street? Why is it so hard to accept that I have heard it, and I still reject it?

Isa 43:10 "You are my witnesses," declares the LORD, "and my servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me.
Isa 43:11 I, I am the LORD, and besides me there is no savior.

Then what about these:
Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 1:2 He was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Joh 1:4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men.

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9

Hell was not made for us, it was made for the devil and his fallen angels.

God did not create us for hell. God created us to worship Him. We do have the chose to Worship God or not. If you are not following Jesus but the Devil, the Bible says "Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels." (Matthew 25:41)

lets see if i have this straight, so just because i'm a Christian, i've got a bigoted point of view, an "imaginary friend", and a "story book", and people get offended if i talk openly about my religion when i DO have the right, and even if they remove that right because they have a problem with it, doesn't have to stop me, just like it won't stop all the muslims, the mormons, the catholics, but oh, it's perfectly fine when they talk about THEIR religions but it's too offending to talk about Christianity???? COME ON PEOPLE!!!!! make up your minds!! alot of you probably think i'm being a hypocrite and all that crap, but it's a little hard not be if people are insisting you are anyway, even when you're not, even if you're stating a simple fact and saying something simple.....

My husband is not a believer but is open to the idea of God. He just find so many discrepancies in the bible and I don't know the bible well enough to answer them.

1. Why do the laws regarding Christianity change from the old to the new testament.

2.Why would someone so perfect let us live in a world were people are suffering from cancer, aids, starvation, terrorism and Hannis crimes.

Any answers would be helpful!

In the bible, there is no condemnation of slavery. Slavery was around before biblical times, and was present in Europe, Middle East and Africa during biblical times - when Jesus lived. It is one of the worst human rights abuses ever and luckily it is seen that way in our society. I wonder about why Jesus didn't take a stand against it.

"Pro wrestler Chris Benoit strangled his wife, suffocated his 7-year-old son and placed a Bible next to their bodies before hanging himself with the pulley of a weight machine, authorities said Tuesday."

Okay, free will, fine. But what about the wife and child, weren't they god's children? Or was god too busy to be bothered that day?

I Peter 4:17

For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

(Judgement must begin with the house of god the house of God is church.)

Matthew 24:15-16

When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains.

(the abomination of desolation is satan, the holy place is church, the mountains are Jesus)

II Thessalonians

2:11

And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

(this is why people are soo happy in church they are delusioned)

II Corinthians 11:14-15

And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Rome often persecuted Christians after disasters such as the Great Fire in Nero's reign. What was their rationale for doing this? Why did Roman leaders feel so threatened by Christianity and its followers?

Someone asked whether humans are inherently good and learn to be bad, or are bad and must learn to be good. I'm Catholic and I believe we are inherently good, being made in God's image, but original sin places the obstacles of death, suffering, ignorance, and an inclination to sin in our way. God, most notably through Baptism, helps us to overcome the inclination to sin. What do other people believe about our being made in God's image/original sin/Baptism/etc? I've always wondered about Muslim/agnostic/whatever other religion viewpoints on these issues.

Don't you know this is a place where people of all different opinions can come to ask questions? What makes you think you have a monopoly on the category? Don't let your temporary political power in america convince you that you rule the world.

Their right-wing, hate filled, sensationalistic, end-of-world rhetoric is doing a lot of harm, and turning a lot of people off.

Do you feel these people are truly of God?

-I honestly wonder if they are the anti-Christ that we are warned of.
- They believe they are of God, they believe they are doing God's work...but, they are not truly furthering his kingdom.
-How many people are being turned away from God because of their judgemental, superior attitudes.
-The God I know is one of mercy, love, grace and justice. This doesn't seem to be the one they talk about.

-How do we battle these people when they have co-opted the term Christian to mean only those that believe as they do? They have co-opted our religions, and our trying to run our government.

-Do we ban with non-believers against the vicious uunGodly ways of the fundamentalists?

Your thoughts?
