I tell 'em that I embrace the similarities of all faiths but belong to none. An old saying sums it up well. "The religious man goes to church and thinks about fishing while the spiritual man goes fishing and contemplates creation, beauty and God." That's what calls to me and is what I practice; lots of thinking, contemplating, wondering, pondering, admiring, loving, embracing.

I say that I am a Catholic. I do practice being a Catholic, and I think it's a little advertising to say so. I also say that I read many things, sometimes a lot. I do this for my own good. I wait for other questions, if there are any. I consider myself a work in progress. I think of my religion as a way to freedom that God wants, not a lot of restrictions as it is usually mis-contrued. This question was a type of calling, lol.

When somebody asks me what my religion is, I usually say "private". Granted I do adhere to a specific religion that has a name, but I don't give out private information to just anybody who asks. Usually it's nobody's business. Furthermore, the answer often opens up a can of worms and invites boring debate. I have better things to do.

I usually claim my faith as christianity unless they specifically ask what is my practicing faith. Then I give them the demoninational church i go to. I prefer to call my self christian becuase to me no matter what faith we fall under we are all christians and practice as such.

First I will ask, WHY DO YOU ASK? That question now puts their question on hold, now they have to answer your question!
Then I may answer their question by saying, I have no preference.
