can a faithful christian woman still 'afford' to love her first love(to whom she lost her virginity) when she's engaged to someone? can she 'tell' her future husband that she is still & forever in love with the first man? is it infidelity? by the way, the first man did not make her an honest woman of her. female(esp. faithful christians) opinions wanted.

My friend on myspace posted this on myspace . . .

"One day a 6 year old was sitting in a classroom. The teacher was going to explain evolution to the children. The teacher asked a little boy:

TEACHER: Tommy do you see the tree outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
TEACHER: Tommy, do you see the grass outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
TEACHER: Go outside and look up and see if you can see the sky.
TOMMY: Okay. (He returned a few minutes later) Yes, I saw the sky.
TEACHER: Did you see God?
TOMMY: No.
TEACHER: That's my point. We can't see God because he isn't there. He just doesn't exist.

A little girl spoke up and wanted to ask the boy some questions.

The teacher agreed and the little girl asked the
boy:
LITTLE GIRL: Tommy, do you see the tree outside?
TOMMY: Yes
LITTLE GIRL: Tommy do you see the grass outside?
TOMMY: Yessssss!
LITTLE GIRL: Did you see the sky?
TOMMY: Yessssss!
LITTLE GIRL: Tommy, do you see the teacher?
TOMMY: Yes.
LITTLE GIRL: Do you see her brain?
TOMMY: No.
LITTLE GIRL: Then according to what we were taught today in school, she must not have one!

This is a serious question and I'm not looking for anyone trying to 'save' me. But I really want to know... is there really a devil? Can you make a deal with him to sell your soul? How can one go about doing this? Are there limitations on what you can ask for?

I have no idea how to 'pray' let alone contact the devil. Is this just a bunch of hollywood myths and urban legends or can u really do this?

I'm totally serious and don't need stupid answers. If you really know, please post it here.

Ever since before the time of Jesus, there was a tradition in Judaism that God worked even on the Sabbath (if he didn't, the whole universe would unravel without him upholding it).

If you do not take this literally, then why take the rest of the "divine working week" literally? I am not disputing that the story talks of literal days with morning and evening. But what if it does so as part of a metaphorical or symbolic depiction of a "divine working week"? Why would that be any more literal than God's throne, or outstreched arm, or anything else that depicts God in human terms?

In Revelation 20:12-15 we read: And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

I've been wondering for awhile now, and I'd like to see specific answers (either passages from the Bible) or logical arguments. Please, don't reply 'just because they are' and don't say that's it's simply a matter of understanding God/Christian faith.

If you're not sure of what I mean by mean question, I'm refering the forced conversions and genocide of Native Americans in the 16th, 17th and early 18th centuries, along with a majority of Christian/Catholic movements around the world.

In the deep ocean, abundant life exists at what could be considered an "alien" environment.....unimaginable water pressure, temperatures far beyond the boiling point, and absolutely zero sunlight. Yet the lifeforms are so perfectly adapted to their environment, they could not live anywhere else. You'd have to put them in a giant pressure cooker for them to exist. Think about that for a moment.....normally, if you boil something you'd kill it, including bacteria, yet this is the only way certain creatures could survive.

So my question is, how could these life forms be anything but perfect example of evolution? Can you honestly believe some god created these animals and plants that exist so far from the rest of the world? What would have been the point??

I think people should be able to make any statement about the bible, wicca, buddhism, zen, the koran, etc. And the 'Flying Spaghetti Monster' is an example of making a valid statement. And fundamentalists can make whatever statements they want. I find NONE of this worthy of reporting abuse or giving a thumbs down BECAUSE I don't have this pushed-down, unconscious doubt of my faith that's threatened when someone challenges belief. What's the friggin deal here?

What should be considered "murder" or "kill"? Considering that a commandment is "thou shalt not kill", it's important that we develop an understanding of what "kill" means.

So, define "kill" or "Murder"
