In Revelation 20:12-15 we read: And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

At the judgement, the books will be opened. The book of life contains the names of those who have put their trust in Christ to save them. These books also contain the recorded deeds of everyone, good or evil. Everyone's life will be reviewed and evaluated. No one is saved by deeds, but deeds are seen as clear evidence of a person's actual relationship with God. Jesus will look at how we have handled gifts, opportunities, and responsibilities. God's gracious gift of salvation does not free us from the requirement of faithful obedience and service. Each of us must serve Christ in the best way we know and live each day knowing the books will one day be opened.

It says that the book of life holds the names of people going to heaven. I am sure the other books contain the deeds of people. Must be many books to have record of every human life.

Waters are symbolic to troubles. It is trouble in peoples lives that can sometimes be crucial as to which direction they can go into. It can turn them into another person, for good or the bad.
When you think of the world today. Hunger, violence, poverty, and broken homes are the leading cause in young children and as they get older because they didnt know any better they keep the cycle going. Troubled waters is an opportunity for wickedness to come after people and grab ahold of them. All of the people that are dead in the sea, are all the people that came from troubled waters here on earth and satan has them.
"And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea." Revelations 21:1
Because waters are symbolic to trouble, revelations 21:1 is telling us that the new heaven and new earth shall have no more troubles. Troubles will be wiped out from life completely after the world ends.

Verse 12:

The “books” that “were opened” are what is written in the “scrolls of heaven,” which are an accounting of our works. Our experiences will be compared with the eternal laws and order of heaven, which are written in “the Book of Life.” The laws and order of the Universe are eternally established, and will always be as they always have been forever. If our works do not conform to what is written in the “other book that was opened, which is the Book of Life, ” we will judge ourselves with remorse and embarrassment (“punish her double”).

Verse 13:

Whether alive upon the earth physically, or in doing righteous works (those from “the sea” of humanity) during the reign of Christ, or “dead” in the spirit realm where one exists as a spirit entity, or performing “dead works” which have led to the experience of “hell” upon earth, we all must confront our inner selves, and compare what we believe, and how we have acted upon these beliefs, with the eternal truths of God. In other words, alive or dead, good or bad, all will be (figuratively) brought before the judgment seat of Christ.

Verse 14:

Upon comparing who we truly are, with how we know things have to be in order to maintain the balance of the Universe (those things “written in the Book of Life”), those of us who cannot conform, will feel the burning of this knowledge (“cast into the lake of fire”). Those who refuse to conform their beliefs and actions with the eternal plan of God “written in the Book of Life,” will be removed forever from existence (“this is the second death”). “Brimstone” is not mentioned here, because there will be no continual remembrance of the stench caused by unrighteous works.

Verse 15:

With the knowledge and advanced technology of the truth (“lake of fire”) there will be no more “death” and no more “hell.”

At that judgment John saw books... opened, including a book called the book of life. The text does not state clearly what these books are, but the first opened books may refer to human works and “the book of life” is the record of those who are saved (cf. 3:5; 13:8; 17:8; 20:15; 21:27). The fact that these dead have not been raised before is evidence in itself that they do not have eternal life and that their judgment is a judgment of their works.

All final judgments deal with works, whether the works of Christians rewarded at the judgment seat of Christ or the works of the unsaved which are in view here. The question of who is saved is determined not in heaven but in life on earth. What is revealed here is the confirmation of one’s destiny by means of God’s written records.

Some view the book of life as the record of all the living and that when the unsaved die their names are deleted from it. A better view is that the book is the record of those who are saved whose names were “written in the book of life from the creation of the world” (17:8). Regardless of which view is taken, at this time only the saved are in the book of life.

This is the great Judgment scene. All that have died have been waiting for this moment in the eternal time. God will open the Lamb's book of life and judge everyone. The wicked and those whose names are not written in the book shall die a second death almost and be sentenced to an eternity of torment since they have not accepted the way He provided. Those whose names are in The book shall be judged according to their works.

In Jesus Name

I enjoyed the music! :-)

The one "book"--is the Lamb's book of Life. It will have written in it only the names of those who have accepted Jesus' sacrifice for their sins and who have lived for Him. There is only one book for those who believe--because so few names will be written in it. These people will not be judged by the good or bad things they have done. The reason? Jesus paid for all their sins with His death on the cross. They will be free to enjoy eternal happiness and life with Him in heaven.

The many "books" mentioned hold the names and deeds of those who have not accepted Jesus as their Savior. There are many books because there are many people who will be listed in these books. Also, everything--good and bad about them is written in the books. Since they have not accepted Jesus as their Savior, there is no payment for their sins.

It doesn't matter where their earthly bodies ended up--in the sea, burned, etc. They will still be delivered up and judged according to what they have done.

And since there is not one who is perfect except Christ, everyone who is not written in the book of life will be cast into the lake of fire.

The Book of Life is where the names of ever human being is written along with their deeds and misdeeds and the time that God is going to offer them salvation. Even Moses knew about the Book of Life: Exodus 32:32

The plural "books" refers to the Bible, from Genesis to Revelations and we are judged depending on how well we tried to follow what is written there.

"And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. "

If you are smart believe IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST so you can be written into the above BOOK OF LIFE.

If you do not believe you will not be written into the BOOK OF LIFE and will be cast into the lake of fire for all eternity.

Looks like a slam dunk open and shut case. End of story.

Books is actually scrolls in the Greek. I think it means God has kept record of everything a man does in life and one day he must give an account.
Jesus said every idle (useless) word a man speaks he must give an account for in the Day of judgment.
Those who accept Jesus are written in the Lamb's scroll of life and He has already paid their debt of sin. These will not come into damnation.

It's talking about the judgement:

Everything we've done is written in those books;if I understand right, there are at least two separate books;the Lambs book of life which has the names of all those that will be in heaven&another with everything done, said¬ done by everybody while in life.
