I think people should be able to make any statement about the bible, wicca, buddhism, zen, the koran, etc. And the 'Flying Spaghetti Monster' is an example of making a valid statement. And fundamentalists can make whatever statements they want. I find NONE of this worthy of reporting abuse or giving a thumbs down BECAUSE I don't have this pushed-down, unconscious doubt of my faith that's threatened when someone challenges belief. What's the friggin deal here?

Thumb downs I can handle, however, the brainless report button mashing without consequences is another deal.

As a general principle, I never report anyone. I've never yet done it. And I never will. Not even trolls. I feel that so long as you've got the choice as to whether or not to answer them, what's the point? Thumbs-up or thumbs-down I feel pretty indifferent about. While it's sometimes irritating when an innocent comment gets thumbs-downed, as the end of the day I still sleep just fine.

When I've asked a question, I've never given any thumbs down or reported abuse either. I don't feel threatened or anything, because everyone has an opinion or a story to tell, and sometimes I'll even give a thumbs up to everyone just because they showed an effort in answering my question.

If the answer makes a statement that puts down mocks etc another faith WITHOUT backing it up with detail/evidence/explanation, then I think that is disrespectful and offensive.

I would give a thumbs-down to any answer that did that about any other religion, or about atheism.

People can have a strong viewpoint and express it, though, and do this respectfully.

I have lost track of the number of times I have been reported.... mostly. aparently, by muslims or mormons... I have never reported a mormon or a muslim for exressing their hatred towards me... but I have reported a few who spew hate like a hose at every one... and use language that should not be used by any human being... and those who think certain avitars of the gross variaty are funny... I very very seldom give a thumb down... but have for the same general reasons

Unlike those who have emailed me with all manner of filth... I do not hide behind my YA identity... if I am going to speak My Faith and that means my Faith in The Word and Will of God, then I must do so openly as dose my Lord and Master Jesus The Christ

but will you say the same when you have 500 points or more?

thumbs up and thumbs down are kind of way for you to see how you are doing, whether you're on the money or not. But a thumbs down can also mean you're not supporting the questioner's bias

This man or woman has sent the same variety of messages to fairly some human beings at right here... the only subject you quite can do, is overlook approximately him... i are turning out to be countless emails from him, and function in no way replied back. in spite of in case you block him, he comes back with a sparkling account below the same call. back, in simple terms overlook approximately him

Abuse is reported when someone posts something advertising their website or some such deal, rather than asking a question.

Some people are incapable or unwilling to articulate an opposing viewpoint so they just report or thumb down.

I think reporting people should be when someone uses abusive language or they answer in an insulting manner. Things like "Learn to spell," or caling the questioner stupid is unnecessary rudeness.
