Before Jesus died, was he considered God himself, infused with the Spirit or a prophet only? Or other.

Some individual texts that refer to the holy spirit (“Holy Ghost,” KJ) might seem to indicate personality. For example, the holy spirit is referred to as a helper (Greek, pa•ra′kle•tos; “Comforter,” KJ; “Advocate,” JB, NE) that ‘teaches,’ ‘bears witness,’ ‘speaks’ and ‘hears.’ (John 14:16, 17, 26; 15:26; 16:13) But other texts say that people were “filled” with holy spirit, that some were ‘baptized’ with it or “anointed” with it. (Luke 1:41; Matt. 3:11; Acts 10:38) These latter references to holy spirit definitely do not fit a person. To understand what the Bible as a whole teaches, all these texts must be considered. What is the reasonable conclusion? That the first texts cited here employ a figure of speech personifying God’s holy spirit, his active force, as the Bible also personifies wisdom, sin, death, water, and blood. (See also pages 380, 381, under the heading “Spirit.”)
Acts 7:55, 56 reports that Stephen was given a vision of heaven in which he saw “Jesus standing at God’s ri

If you didnt deserve it in the first place, how can you keep your salvation by your own efforts? You didnt get it by your efforts, but by Christ's sacrifice. So isn't it Christ's sacrifice that keeps you saved not your successes or failures?

Indeed, it is so strange and ironic, knowing that none of Paul’s epistle to the Romans, more than 430 verses, were ever formulated by Jesus. Paul should have made direct reference to the pristine teachings of Jesus, if only the former claim for apostleship by divine inspiration was indeed true. Instead, large parts of his epistles’ Biblical quotations (notably those in the Epistle to the Romans) were taken from the Old Testament – Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Deuteronomy, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, Psalms, Proverbs, Isaiah, Ezekiel and Hosea. His epistles were, indeed a product of tedious efforts, but that does not make Paul far better than any of the other men who authored the Bible, nor does it make him a Prophet.

I quote "For if we become faithless, He remaineth faithful, He cannot deny Himself." So to become faithless, you must have had faith to begin with. Grace means undeserved favor. So if salvation is undeserved, how can it be taken away when I fail, I couldn't earn it in the first place right?

We are very much in love. But he snores too loud and I toss and turn all night (I have left bruises on him). We have a normal life other than this and we are happy with the situation. But a pastor once told us that it wasn't normal and that he was praying for us to get back together. We like our own space and rooms. I usually go into his room before bedtime and we visit for a while. We are both christians. Thank you for your help.

That is oe question. I have had for a long time. What exactly does it mean to not judge. Does it mean not judge meanly or not judge anything or anyone at all? Like if you had a gut feeling that someone is bad. Should I have that feeling or was I wrong to judge them by my gut feeling they are bad. Like sometimes hateful ideas come into me before I know someone or a group of people. I naturally categorize or maybe judge them without knowing them. Is categorizing people judging? What exactly does the bible mean to not judge. What is acceptable?

If you believe that sin, or loss of faith, or any decision you can make can cancel your salvation, it would be best to wait so that you have a limited time to mess it up right?
Salvation by grace emphasizes God's accomplishments
while salvation by works glorifies self. "It is the gift of God", right?

I have no problem w/ jewish people.I see them as just another white person.Alecia Sylverstone.Thats all I'm saying !!! I think of them more of a secret fraternity. It is common knowledge the Diamonds,gold,entertainment,banking,Edu.&Univ.systems,newspaper,and justiceSystems are predominately Jewish run.For some reason just saying this makes you a bad guy.If I noticed all the names on the WWW. board were jewsish sir names I would be a bad guy too.But what I want to explore is the possibility that media has driven into our minds the perfect penial form is a cropped one.How did religious rite of a minority religion become standard in less then 50 yrs.To convince someone to snip their precious newborn child's yoowhoo is no small feat. But if the sir names of the people that run our mainstream medical world were jewish a;so that would be.....Could it be a big scheme or is it paranoia ?Nobody can ever single out jewish males like the Nazis did now it's normal.A little all too convienient ?

The Dark Side. Feared by many. Embraced by few. I am one of the few. It is not bad. I no longer fear it as the many weaklings that inhabit this hellish pit called Earth! It felt cold,I was blind, I was angry, I was sad. How I embraced it. I thought about all the bad things that happened to me, all the dark and sad memories. I thought about all the times I was picked on,then I thought about getting my revenge on the bullies and hurting them in sadistic ways. I thought about all the people whom I loved and died in my life. I could also see the future. The dark side told me that my friends would die if I did not embrace what it had to offer. I gained strength through the pain! The dark side will serve me well!

Your motivation for serving God should be love for God, not to try to get something from God. That is why so many atheists are correct in seeing so many believers as hypocrits.
They are serving God in order to gain something for themselves, not give of themselves to Someone greater.
Agree or disagree?

with a few differences...

#1. I will believe in many Gods and not just one.
#2. I will believe that i can do things like Jesus could, like heal the sick.
#3. I will wear a pentacle instead of a cross.
#4. I wont read the bible, i'll just go by what God tells me.
and #5. I will believe there is reicarnation after death.

How does this sound.....?

Neither the Old Testament nor New Testament uses the term "Trinity," though Trinitarians believe the concept is implicit in various biblical passages (see Scripture section below). The doctrine of the Trinity is the result of continuous exploration by the church of the biblical data, argued in debate and treatises.[1] It was expressed in early writings from the beginning of the second century forward.[1] The First Council of Nicaea in 325 AD established a nearly universal Trinitarian dogma and expressly rejected any heresies.

i have been reading all kinds of theology for years and talking w/ people from every religion - athiests, too. it has kind of been my obsession. but i'm getting more and more confused. there are so many good reasons to believe there is a God but i'm not sure i understand Him or His will. there is nothing yet that has convinced me God doesn't exist but there isn't proof of his existance. and i don't have much in the way of personal experience to stand on. so is it prophecies? moral law? irreducible complexity? etc........ i'm kind of at Pascal's wager right now. anyone been here? what do i do besides continuing to read and pray? this is frustrating

Of course not. When I came to know Christ as my savior, I came into a relationship with God that guaranteed me eternal life. As John 3:36 said, He that believeth on the Son has everlasting life. A later lack of belief cannot take away eternal life previously granted by God, because if he could, you would never have had eternal life. Since God isn't a teenage girl, his mind won't change seaonally as the hemline drops. In short, once saved, always saved. This makes sense, because salvation does not come from works but through God's mercy. Titus 3:5. Grace saves us not our own acts. Ephesians 2:8,9. So in a sense, Christians who teach otherwise are terrorists who seek to scare you into adhering to their own code of behavior.

I was saved when I accepted Jesus Christ into my heart at 15 and was babtised. My subsequent loss of belief such that I am now an atheist (or more accurately, an agnostic) is irrelevant to my state of salvation.

"Many will come to me on that day and say Lord Lord have we not done all of these things in Thy name, and I will say unto them, depart from me for I never knew you."
BEFORE YOU QUOTE "FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD" I challenge you to look up the word "dead" in that sentence in the Greek, it means barren. It is still faith, it just has not produced.
Also find an area in Romans 8:38-39 where it is even possible to lose salvation.
And finally what does that verse mean
"If all of a man's work be hay wood and stubble, he shall suffer loss, YET SHALL ENTER IN AS ONE ESCAPING THROUGH THE FLAMES." What does it mean "escaping through the flames." If that is not salvation by grace alone, I will eat my hat.

When ur child became a teen or even younger than that sometimes, would u let ur child choose their religion? or will u keep pushing ur beliefs on them so they wouldnt know any other religions?

I was raised Christian from birth to age 10. My parents let me choose my religion then, and i have found my truth in Wicca. Do u believe my parents did the right thing? Or would u have pushed the religion on me?

If an Atheist walked up to you, would u try to "save" them? How bout me? A satanist?

Cant u see? Are u actually that blind to not see that ur pushing ur beliefs on us "non-believers" because we have found our own truth and not urs? Why cant u leave us alone? Cant u see we are happy with our decision? Why turn us to something we know is not true?

Answer with all honesty!!!
