"Many will come to me on that day and say Lord Lord have we not done all of these things in Thy name, and I will say unto them, depart from me for I never knew you."
BEFORE YOU QUOTE "FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD" I challenge you to look up the word "dead" in that sentence in the Greek, it means barren. It is still faith, it just has not produced.
Also find an area in Romans 8:38-39 where it is even possible to lose salvation.
And finally what does that verse mean
"If all of a man's work be hay wood and stubble, he shall suffer loss, YET SHALL ENTER IN AS ONE ESCAPING THROUGH THE FLAMES." What does it mean "escaping through the flames." If that is not salvation by grace alone, I will eat my hat.

Eldad 9----in the story of Horus, HORUS COMMITTED TWO ACTS OF HOMOSEXUALITY. THEREFORE THERE IS NOTHING CHRISTIAN ABOUT THE STORY. READ YOUR FACTS, OR THE FACTS, BEFORE YOU POST LIES.

IF YOU BELIEVE THAT LOSS OF FAITH EQUALS LOSS OF SALVATION. THEN YOU WORSHIP THE FAITH MORE THAN THE OBJECT OF FAITH. YOU MAKE FAITH OVERCOME SACRIFICE.

We are saved by His grace alone. there is nothing we can do to earn or deserve it. A Christians "works" are the result of his love for God and other people. That love produces the "good works".... charity, altruism, selfless and humbleness of spirit... anything listed in 1 Corinthians 13.

It is about being changed, a new creation, a child of God. It is from our new identity in Christ, abiding in Him, lead by His Spirit in relationship with the living God. It is only through Him that we can enter in or even do His will and work in our lives. That is why this goes over the head of most people.... they don't know about or have this relationship.

God will judge everyone, believers and unbelievers. He will test the works or deeds of everyone with fire.

1 Corinthians 3:11-15
"For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each man's work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man's work. If any man's work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward. If any man's work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire."

Christ said that in order to be saved you must be baptized and you must have faith. So there are at least two things required for salvation. The baptism is pretty straightforward, and obviously cannot be lost. But the belief part can be lost. I lost my faith for a number years and by God's mercy had it restored. I have some friends who have lost their faith and have yet to get it back. If faith can be lost then so can salvation, right?

I still have trouble understanding why some insist on contending over a grace vs. works doctrinal issue.

Don't Christians in general believe that the Atonement of Jesus Christ is essential for salvation (grace)?

Don't Christians in general believe that Christ wants us to obey his teachings (to have good works) and to repent of wrongdoings?

Yup, I agree. Salvation is given, not taken. There is no such thing as a spiritual "get saved" starting point or a finish line of death, salvation runs from eternity, to eternity.

First your question looks more like a statement even though there is a question mark at the end? Grace, salvation, faith, are all attributes of God. All of God's words are good for study and reproof. Paul did not seem to have the same view of works and grace and faith as James did, maybe because of the way he was converted, Paul knew his path was going the wrong way, and except for the grace of God he was totally lost. But God cannot reject himself or his own attributes. Weak faith is still faith and faith of God or his word is still the requirement to be saved.
Many people do not understand if Jesus is the way the truth and the light, then his life was our example of what all Christians must go through, but even if they do not go through every requirement as the thief on Jesus Christ's right side did. All this man did was recognize this man was unjustly accused, he wasn't a disciple, he wasn't baptized, he lived a sinners life, he never repented, he only said remember me when you come into your Kingdom and for this that man was saved, total grace because with God all things are possible but with men nothing is possible.
I agree with your statement but I do not agree with your attituide about what you are saying, it seems prideful and more knowledge than love; 1 Corinthians 13:2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
Ephesians 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
2 Peter 1:5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; 6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 14:1 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
Now from the following verse you can see there is more than one kind of Faith; Romans 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Romans 14:22 Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.
Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
1 Timothy 6:11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. 12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

Jesus never said I am your Saviour. Why people declared him savior?
Titus 1:4 To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior.
2 Peter 1:1. Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Savior Jesus Christ:
Luke 2:11. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

In which Version/Edition of Bible Jesus pbuh himself declared that I am your Savior?
In which Edition/Kind/Norm/Form/Version of Bible Jesus pbuh himself declared that I am your Savior if you are truthfull???
I challenge you, you will never be able to show me any such declaration from Jesus pbuh. If you are unable to show me any verse in which Jesus pbuh Himself said "I am your Saviour" then have a fear of hell-fire which will encompass infidels and culprits like you???

That's a funny one, since your christ stole the concept from Horus and Mithras.

If Christ thought he was doing me a favor by dying, he was sadly mistaken. I reject any such gift, and I reject the notion that my mistakes are anyone's but my own.

(also, your 'sins' are not magically forgiven. better start dealing with them)
