For instance I've developed more of a sense of respect and to a degree admiration for Christians, Jews, Muslims, and Hindus, and Pagans and to a degree I've lost a certain amount of respect for some but not all of the Atheists, Agnostics, Freethinkers and Humanists. Has that ever happened to any of you guys as well or am I on a deserted island all by myself? What could have caused me to change my perspective?

Genesis is known to be impossible to any rational person. Shouldn't a basic knowledge of REALITY be a prerequisite to becoming the most powerful person in the world? Would you trust someone who thinks women came from a rib with a SINGLE nuclear weapon? C'mon....

If there were no religious beliefs does anyone think that the world would progress a lot quicker? The Middle East for example would be infinitely better without religion. Yes of course wars could happen anyway without religion but religion seems to be a dividing factor in most wars whether religiously motivated or not. Will we ever do away with it, it is 2007 after all?

Imagine it was at your local community center. They went through the neighborhood and invited the kids to come and hang out during the day for a week. There would be a lot of fun activities and songs and nifty things for the kids to do (maybe a magician or a clown with balloon animals). All the workers were volunteers and had a criminal background check. It would be free of course.

And, at the end of every day someone would get up and tell the kids there was no god and the belief in god was just a silly superstition.

The Left Behind books say that people will vanish into thin hair instantly when the rapture happens. Then, they say the earthly bodies are not important because you get new bodies in heaven for your souls. Why would bodies disappear then?

In the beginning, God created the heaven and the Earth and so on and so forth. Right, okay, fine. Don't believe myself but I'm not here to judge.

My question is, where did God come from? Did He just pop into existence one day and if so, how? Was He the only one to just suddenly exist? Who were His parents? How did He get His powers?

Belief is a funny thing. I personally do not believe in God. A higher power / Higher powers, yes but not one true God.

To..... assist me in my quest of perhaps finding Him again, perhaps those that DO believe, could answer my question for me.

If the Bible clearly says "repent and be baptized" and that's what the first Christians did, why do many churches ignore this? If the Bible says it, isn't it logical to, well, do it?

NOTE: I'm not saying that everyone who hasn't been baptized is going to Hell. OK? I'm not God and have no right to judge, so please put down that rotten tomato you were aiming at me. Thank you.

I have. When my dad nearly died, my mom freaked out, blaming god and then wondering if he even existed. In fact, in many deaths I've been through, many friends have questioned god deeply at that time.

If you're a student of history, you know that the traumatic experiences that soliders face have turned many into Atheists.

What are your experiences with this?

There is not a successful politician today who is not a complete and total liar. Given that, no politician is a Christian by default because he/she has to repeatedly lie in order to perform his/her job. Christians, for the most part, do not intentionally lie and would not take a job that requires them to do so.

George Bush is not a Christian; he just plays one on TV.
