My faith in God and relationship with Jesus Christ are what make me happy. I am happy in the knowledge of salvation, that whatever happens it will ultimately be all right and that Jesus will never let me down.
As to "religion"--rites and ceremonies--they aren't what makes me happy. Living in God's spiritual presence in prayer and praise, feeling the Holy Spirit at times, knowing who I am in Christ, that he is King of Kings and I am His child bought with a price and forgiven by His blood, and that this will never change--that is what makes me happy.

I can't speak for all religions, but as a Christian, my faith gives my life meaning and purpose as well as hope at a time when there is a great deal of uncertainty. Of course I'm not always happy - faith does not make anyone immune to life's normal ups and downs - but it does give you a bedrock of confidence and a deep-seated peace. The conviction that 'all things work together for good to those that love God' helps one to weather life's storms and grow through them.

the true definition of religion which is a set of beliefs and practices involving adherence to a set of beliefs and rituals and study of traditions...sure. What we have made religion? No. More people die in the name of religion than any other reason in the world. More wars are started in the name of religion than any other reason in history. More hate is spread in the name of religion than any other reason. More excuses are made in the name of religion and any other reason. So if you like to lie, hate and kill...sure, religion can make someone very happy, but that is mans interpretation of religion, not the true meaning. So religion makes me sad more than anything, because people cant practice it in a non-hateful or harmful manner.

No, I don't follow a religious discipline, I have faith though in Jesus. When I first met him it was awesome, being filled with the Holy Spirit gave me a peace I knew you can't get on earth. I loved everyone! I would so like to get that feeling back!
Jesus said that following Him would not be easy, and he wasn't kidding. I can have peace in troubled situations because I know that God will bring about a suitable ending, but being a christian doesn't make you immune to hard times.

The only people religion makes happy are the people making money out of it,and the ones giving them the money ,in the misguided belief that they are buying redemption.

No, but having answers to my questions about what is going on in life, and how I can make things better sure does. That's what I get from spirituality studying and praying. And that makes me happy.

The only people made happy by religion are the justified and self righteous. Religion makes most of us sick.

No. I prefer spirituality. Organized religion will never make you happy.
