President Spencer Kimball taught that only those who are "living all the commandments" are guarunteed "total forgiveness" of sins and assured of "exaltation." (Miracle of Forgiveness p. 208) Are you living ALL the commandments? How can you be sure you are forgiven?

You say you are saved by grace AFTER all you can do... Have you honestly done ALL you can do?

While I am familar with President Kimball's statement, I would also remind you the the message of the New Testament is that God's grace trumps blind obedience to the law. Be in right relationship with your fellow man, with Christ, and with God, and you are released from bondage to the law. It may be argued that if you are in right relationship with your fellow man and with God, that you are following the law, but the concept of "grace" says that if you accept God into your life, you are forgiven your sins. President Kimball (and many others) seem to forget the promise of salvation that comes with a simple acceptance of God and Christ.

I believe that I am living all the commandments to the best of my ability. That's all that the Lord asks of us and in return we just have to follow him. We do believe in Jesus Christ as our Messiah if that's ever a question.

I have:

1) Been baptized
2) Been given the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands
3) Tried to repent of any sins that I have committed
4) Had faith in God and Jesus Christ
5) Done service and been kind to others

I truly believe as does the LDS Church that if I follow the gospel and do the best things I can do with the best of my ability and stay in that course until the day I die, I will be saved with my family.

Mind you, I know I will make mistakes. We don't believe that you have to be perfect in every way to enter the kingdom of God. We believe that you are saved by the grace of Christ after all that you can do.

It's saved by grace after all we can do not after all we could do.

We are forgiven of our sins by the atonement of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We do good works, then his grace is sufficient.

This is like your last question. You can read the answer from repentance and get the same results. Obedience, like repentance, is a progressive quality. I think your ascerbic postings indicate a need for you to repent and put more charity in your life.
