Not that "I only want them to be happy" stuff. We all want our kids to be happy and healthy. Stick to the question. Do you wish it for them? Do you hope for it?

I know that you cannot become a rabbi until you're 30, but I thought Jesus "fulfilled" the old laws, plus being the son of God, you think it would be okay. Sure there was the little episode when He was 12 or whatever, but why wait until He was 30, especially if He knew He was only going to live like 3 more years?

Also, why didn't He follow the law the rabbis had to be married?

do you go to your priests for confessions? The Bible says that no man comes to the Father except through Jesus...not a priest.

Hebrews 4:16 says "Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need." Whhy then do you feel it neccessary to go to a priest for forgiveness? Honest question.

I should not have to care if they sin or not I just can not help it.I must teach you that you do not have to sin, that is why Jesus died for you. Nail the maker to a tree everytime you sin, is what I should be preaching. Are there any christians that even listen to what I say. Maybe I should speek not so angry. All I am saying my family is you should be perfect as Jesus is perfect. Matthew ch 5:48 be ye therefore perfect, even as your father which is in heaven is perfect. Not try to be perfect, or ONLY GOD IS PERFECT. At least I like the brothers that say strive to be perfect. At least they are trying. Know God can do all things.

To go to heaven (be saved) is there anything else
besides accepted the "Free" gift of eternal life from God.

or do you have to:
A. Join a Church
B. Become a Mormon
C. Be a Catholic
D. Become a Jehova Witness

F. Do all kinds of good works

Is it just asking and accepting this gift?

I think this category should be Religion or Spirituality instead of Religion & Spirituality. Religion is a term that implies a "group mind". Spirituality implies "individuality." I think the problem with religion is that it condones a group mind atmosphere and does not encourage individuals to think for themselves. When an individual begins to think for themselves, they cross the line from religion into spirituality. Organized religion today has no room for people who are spiritual. Assuming the Bible is true, at the last judgement, will you be standing there with a group or by yourself. The answer is of course "by yourself." How can we go through this life depending on others to tell us how to conduct our lives and then think that we'll be able to stand all alone in front of a Creator to give an accounting. At the point where we are brave enough to break away from a herd mentality, is the point where we truly begin to experience spirituality. What do you think?

why is it that every time a skeptic brings up the inexcusable absurdity of the old testament god:

christians knowingly skirt the issue, and they point out that mosiac law has been set aside by jesus?
skeptics are well aware that christian theology says that.
why can't you give a straight answer and truly explain why god would be so perverse in the first place?
nevermind that "jesus made those laws no longer in effect,"
we wan't to know why the hell they were in effect in the first place!!

It's for those who are morally good and pure in spirit. For instance, between a Christian who drinks and abuses ppl and a Hindu that has always been a positive influence and essentially good person chances are the Hindu would be accepted into "Heaven" or "Nirvana" over the Christian...

Thoughts?

somewhere in Africa region who speak hebrew and worship just like Jewish people do and have been for generations? I saw it on either the discovery channel or the history channel. They said it may be one of the lost tribes of Isreal. I would appreciate input if you have heard of this or if you have seen this program on TV. thanks.

I've been shown countless accounts of lies being taught in schools, and blatant misrepresentations of biology and carbon dating. But does anyone believe that science can completely turn evolution into a busted myth?

People say it is not natural, yet you only have to look at any animal and see gay dogs, cats, horses etc. So if it not natural then why do some many creatures do it?

If belief in the Trinity was such a necessary condition for being a Christian, why didn’t Jesus teach and emphasize it to the Christians during his time? How were those followers of Jesus considered Christians without ever hearing the term Trinity? Had the Trinity been the spinal cord of Christianity, Jesus would have emphasized it on many occasions and would have taught and explained it in detail to the people.

Sometimes Christians get on my nerves when they claim that science is a religion and that atheists are hard headed morons who will go to hell. And then they wonder why atheists argue with them the way they do.

I am a Christian and I believe that science is a very helpful and logical way of understanding our world around us. However, science cannot give us an answer to things that cannot be proven or seen using the scientific method.

Evolution in itself is not evil and is a theory about how the origins of life and humanity came to be. It is not an evil scheme to destroy religion or attack Christians.

Atheists however need to understand that not all Christians are that closed minded and hard headed as some are. I for one am open minded and respect any person's beliefs.

Now, am I the only one out here who feels this way?

(No bashing of religions or beliefs by either side, please.)

At Matt. 24:36, Jesus said: "Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father." It has been said that Jesus did not know the "day and hour" because of his human limitations. If all authority had been given to him in heaven and on earth, what would prevent him from knowng "the day and hour? Matt. 28:18. And if he were fully God, wouldn't that part of him know all things?
