I think this category should be Religion or Spirituality instead of Religion & Spirituality. Religion is a term that implies a "group mind". Spirituality implies "individuality." I think the problem with religion is that it condones a group mind atmosphere and does not encourage individuals to think for themselves. When an individual begins to think for themselves, they cross the line from religion into spirituality. Organized religion today has no room for people who are spiritual. Assuming the Bible is true, at the last judgement, will you be standing there with a group or by yourself. The answer is of course "by yourself." How can we go through this life depending on others to tell us how to conduct our lives and then think that we'll be able to stand all alone in front of a Creator to give an accounting. At the point where we are brave enough to break away from a herd mentality, is the point where we truly begin to experience spirituality. What do you think?

We are all accountable for our own actions. I believe religion is manmade rules and regulations. I don't consider Christianity a religion as it is based on the teachings of Jesus Christ. I go to a non denominational church. No talk of religion. Just how to lead a better life and help others along the way.

Sometimes I feel like religion and spirituality are polar opposites because so much of what goes on behind religion is judgmental. hateful. limiting, close minded. Spirituality to me is more of an exploration of life and the soul and being aware of walking a spiritual path, one realizes that there is little room for limited thinking and feeling. In my beliefs, I cannot even rationalize a final judgment. We all die, and I believe we review that life and then we move on through eternity getting ever closer to god/love. It is so free not to be tied to the fear that comes with religion. I know that I am doing exactly what I am supposed to be doing and god will always welcome me.

You are absolutely right religion and spirituality are as different as day and night, spirituality is individual and personal, and our spiritual Journey has nothing to do with religion, I believe religion is nothing more than an organization that some neeeeeeeeed to belong to in order to justify their own beliefs, my relationship with God is between me and him, and I do not need religion for that.

I think that you know things that many 'religious' people don't get. I am glad that there are other people out there don't think much about what 'church' means today. It used to mean, " the out-called one's."

I am so glad to not have the shackles of 'Church' around my spirit. Thank God for that!

So I don't need anyone to tell me, and I think that you don't either, to tell you that you are right on about that.
