A somewhat vague term derived from from the Latin word paganus. Pagan is a term which refers to a variety of different religions ranging from Wicca, to that of ancient Egypt and even Hinduism, among many others. Some Pagans are of no specific religion, but rather are eclectic. In general Pagan religions have more than one deity, or many gods which are aspects of one (an idea similar to that of the Christian trinity). Another quite common feature of Pagan religions are that they tend to be nature oriented. Pagan can also be used as a derogatory word for any non-Judeo/Christian/Islam ic religion.

Pagan, not pagon... there are tons of different pagans. Wiccans, Astruars, etc. Most anyone who believes in a pantheon of gods and godesses rather than just the Christian god. I -think- a christian would say anyone who is not a christian is a pagan.

Pagan, not Pagon. Paganism is now just a big umbrella word to include all religions that are not Judaism, Islam, and Christianity. Religioustolerance.org is your friend.

It's actually 'pagan' not 'pagon'.
Pagan refer to anyone who is not a member of one of the Abrahamic religions.
It can also refer to anyone who is not of the Abrahamic religions, Eastern religions such as Buddhism, or atheism.
Basically it is an umbrella term that covers many faiths such as Satanism, Wicca, Thelema, Druidry, Asatru, etc. Much like Christianity is an umbrella term that covers Roman Catholics, Evengalists, et cetera.
Most pagans are Wiccans, followers of Wicca.

Paganism, in the broadest sense includes all religions other than the true one revealed by God, and, in a narrower sense, all except Christianity, Judaism, and Mohammedanism. The term is also used as the equivalent of Polytheism.

It is derived from the Latin pagus, whence pagani (i.e. those who live in the country), a name given to the country folk who remained heathen after the cities had become Christian.

Paganism is a vague term created to refer to any polytheistic non-Christian religion. It can mean anything from Totemism to Wicca, and is generally only used by Christians. It's basically a broad stroke brush to categorize people of other faiths.

Pagans are any religion that is not one of the members of the Abrahamic religions (which are Christianity, Jewish, and Muslim). They are not, in any way, Christian.

It's Pagan.

It essentially means you are an irreligious person or one who is is not a Christian, Jew, or Muslim.

Early Christians referred to Romans who observed a polytheistic (multiple god) religion as "pagans."
