There is so much diversity of opinion about this, it seems that you're describing things held by different religions. Anything from immediate heaven, to a separation of body & spirit for a while, to total death until Jesus returns, then a big resurrection.

Here's the question I asked mere moments ago. You can review the answers to see what I mean:

Yet I thought that nothing was more central to the Christian life than the belief that "whosoever believeth in him should not die, but have everlasting life."

What's up with the variations in the expectations? God wasn't clear about what you were actually looking forward to?

The powers of this 'god' fellow seem to be getting weaker and weaker as time moves on. First people thought he made the sun and moon rise, then they thought the universe revolved around his 'special little creatures'. Then science uncovered how all life on this planet evolved from a common ancestor. (Get over it, evolution is a fact, you ego maniacs.) Now science is uncovering how the universe began.
Pretty soon your god is going to look extremely pointless. When Science finally has some good solid evidence of why we exist, are you going to cling to the mythology? Or are you just going to slowly incorporate the truth into your belief system and pretend that 'god did it' all along?

so a museum has opened that shows dinosaurs on noahs ark and other biblical stories, using science and historical evidence to dicpict the bible. they also show that the universe is 6000 yrs old and the grand cannon was formed by a flood. do you support this idea? what effect do you think this will have on children? science always teaches evolution and such as a theory, not a truth, so what about this museum?

I recently watched the movie Jesus Camp, and I was horrified. I am not religious, but I would hope that religious people would be horrified by this as well. I feel like this kids are being brainwashed, and I would say these parents are ruining their lives. If you haven't seen it, please watch at least a bit before you answer.
You can watch the whole thing... it is 12 parts, this is the link to part 1.

i mean do we really need religion in the 21st Century. Do you really believe what you read in the scriptures, quran or whichever. i mean, really. surely if religion was banned prejudice would be demolished and the world would live in harmony. well, at least more so than it currently is. surely seeing as it is the 21st century we can live with morals without religion. we all know whats right and whats wrong. what if Jesus did come back. nobody would care because nobody would recognise him. i very much doubt he would look like how he is depicted. if he really was from Jerusalem he wouldnt be pale white. god help him if he got on a plane in America. I dont mean to come across overly offensive. i just often wonder...

Someone said "Rabbit turds."

How is that a proof of anything; much less, evolution be false?

Apologetics is essentially the study of Christian theology as it
compares to other worldviews in order to give a defense of faith and to challenge others' beliefs.

With this in mind, there appear to be divergent views, especially among theologians, regarding the "Big Bang" theory. Is God the explanation of the origins of the universe as the initiator of the "spacetime singularity" we call the "Big Bang?"

What are your thoughts?

I am Agnostic, I don't know if there is a God or not? Frankly I don't care either because if there is, he/she doesn't care about us.
My question is, from a scientific view point if God can neither be proven or disproven... How can you outright deny the existance of a God in any form?

the bible was created, that there were several versions of the bible in different languages and the church created this version of the bible because they wanted to monopolized religion. and that's how many books have been banned (by the church not god) . why do they turn blind when it comes to this? why are they like sheeps that do not have the guts to questions the origins or the reasons in how the bible was created. it was put together by men and written by men not god. why do we choose only to accept certain scriptures as sacred while ignored the others or label them as evil or not christian? why are christians so ignorant most of the times and don't take the time to research what they hold so dear to their heart?
