The powers of this 'god' fellow seem to be getting weaker and weaker as time moves on. First people thought he made the sun and moon rise, then they thought the universe revolved around his 'special little creatures'. Then science uncovered how all life on this planet evolved from a common ancestor. (Get over it, evolution is a fact, you ego maniacs.) Now science is uncovering how the universe began.
Pretty soon your god is going to look extremely pointless. When Science finally has some good solid evidence of why we exist, are you going to cling to the mythology? Or are you just going to slowly incorporate the truth into your belief system and pretend that 'god did it' all along?

There are some fairly plausible ideas concerning biogenesis. The most interesting I've seen is the "RNA World" hypothesis, which posits that early proto-life was an RNA-like structure. This is plausible because we know the constituent parts of it can form spontaneously, and we also know that RNA can store information *and* act as a catalyst.

Nietzsche was right way back when--God is dead. God is deader and deader with each new discovery.

It doesn't matter if science eventually finds the perfect explanation for everything, religion will still always exist. Humans are born without an understanding of science and it takes many long years of study to grasp science's full explanation for the universe. Using religion to explain it may be wrong, but it's easier. The average human doesn't want to think any more than he absolutely has to. Therefore, religion will always be believed by a majority of the human population. There is no avoiding it.

The saddest thing is that there are still people who actually believe that we evolved from a common ancestor. Talk about ignoring science. Evolution inside of species is shown to occur, but Darwin's Origin of Species can't be proven and so is being replaced by more scientific theories on how the universe came to be.

There's no scientific proof of Darwinism, so it has become a religion all by itself. There are no fossil records that connect the species. Darwin himself said that if no fossils were ever found his theory would be wrong. Well, it's been 150 years and still no proof. So it's become just another unproven theory and needs a lot of faith to keep it alive as a religion.

Advances in microbiology have already disproven Darwinism. I expect it to go the way of the flat earth theory as we increase scientific knowledge.

If it weren't such a political tool, it wouldn't even be taught in schools anymore.

First off, all the situations you describe show the failure of man not God.
Secondly, this science that you seem to revere is the thought-system that came up with these aforementioned failures. Think about how science, just over 100 years ago, believed/taught spontaneous generation,(that rotting meat "turned into" flies, etc.). So, this is the "belief system" you trust?
Thirdly, religion is obsolete...always has been. Because religion is man trying to dictate the terms of a relationship. Christianity is not a religion, even though it is erroneously defined as one. To be in a loving relationship, such as marriage...would you call that a religion? Is being a close and intimate friend with someone being religious?

My beliefs are part of a relationship I have with Someone who loved me enough to die for me. I would die for my wife...who would you die for?

God is not changed only people's perception of Him. If we all suddenly decide that from now on an apple is an orange, it is still the same old apple and its gonna taste like one no matter what we think about it.

Evolution is not in contradiction with Creationism, it is like the three blind men trying to describe an elephant by touching different parts of the animal. They all guessed wrong but from what little information they could gather they had made logical and realistic guesses as to the animal's nature.

it is the same with evolution. If you look at the evolutionary progression it follows the same progression as the creationists view. Big Bang= Let there be light Evolution says that once the sea covered the earth In the bible the earth was first covered wtih water until it was parted to reveal the land. Humans are at the very end of the evolutionary chart and God made man on the last day before He rested. I do not understand the debate the one is simply our flawed explaination of the other.

No- it's all there in the vedas and the intelligent persons will accept that. No scientist will have any real answers accept the ones who find what God wants them to discover and they will then see all tehir research was a waste of time, because it is all there in the Vedas . Scientists have already proven The theory of Evolution false and how God does exist. Read The Hidden History of the Human Race and Forbidden Archeology by Michael A. Cremo. Tells how man was way more intelligent in every way even millions of years ago and they didn't look like apes or cavemen. For info on factual knowledge go to harekrishnatemple.com Read Bhagavad Gita As it is BY Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada Its all there.

Are these really questions, or just cleverly disguised insults?

I take it, from the initial question tho, that you do not feel that your (god) Science has yet discovered logical reasons for life and existence, so you are trying to make like a prophet & foresee such an event.

The answer to why we exist is beyond the realm of Science.

Science can explain how we came into existence but it cannot give meaning behind it.

That is reserved to the realm of philosophy and theology.

Either side should not try to conflict with the other. Science explains how life develops and why it changes. Philosophy explains the meaning behind it.

The fact is that God created the heavens and the earth, if you read the beginning of the book it says so, then if you go to Mathew it says any one mocking the holy spirit will be put to the wrath for it is unforgivable, then if you go to revelations it says if you add or take from the book of life you will be condemned to eternal death. Also it says that there will be many anti christ to be careful and to watch their fruit, so i say to you REPENT, and humble yourself before GOD ask for forgiveness so you too can be saved Also I have to tell you Our God is not getting weaker and weaker he is being known in places you and I thought he could never be known like China, Japan, Indonesia, places where it is forbidden Hallejuh Glory to God for he is the first and the last THE OMEGA AND THE ALPHA!!! HALLLEJUH HE IS RISEN BROTHER REPENT! REPENT!! MAKE WAY FOR THE KING OF KINGS LORD OF LORD!! REPENT REPENT JOHN 3:16 GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON AND WHOM SHOULD EVER BELIEVE IN HIM SHALL HAVE ETERNAL LIFE AMEN! SO HE DIED FOR YOUR SIN RIGHT NOW THE THINGS YOU ARE SAYING REPENT! I REBUKE YOU SATAN IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST

There are those of us who are quite satisfied with the existing evidence on these issues - but I know what you mean.

In a sane world, religion would have faded into the background once it was discovered that no deity was required to keep the sky from falling, make rainbows and lightning, and cause illness. But powerful indeed is the need of the weak for a father figure.
