In your opinion, what is so far the best truth you have come so far which have stood the test of time?

It is seldom the best method for communicating ideas clearly. Much better to articulate one's own perspective, rather than moving to shift the focus onto the asker. That's not much of an answer.

In fact, it's a logical fallacy that would be struck down in formal debate for attacking the messenger, instead of the message.

A little Socratic irony placed sparingly can be humorously effective, but generally, answers that leave a question at the end are unproductive. Do you agree, or perhaps disagree?

they say: bad things happen to good people because god gave us free will, so we have the choice to do bad things

but they also say: if you pray for something (lets just say 100 pounds), and some one gives you 100 pounds, thats actually god giving you that thing, through that person.

BUT THAT PERSON HAS FREE WILL! ARE YOU STUPID?!!! IF WE HAVE FREE WILL, AND GOD DOESNT MAKE US DO BAD THINGS, HE DOESNT MAKE US DO GOOD THINGS EITHER!

otherwise it wouldnt be free will. therefore god didnt give you 100 pounds through that person, that person just gave you 100 pounds.

ah it just annoys me when they contradict themselves like this. its like they dont even understand their own religion. they dont think enough about it.

(im only referring to a proportion of christians)

also, regardless of free will etc, id still like a decent explanation for why god allows natural disasters to kill people. how can he be all loving, all knowing and all powerful but allow natural disasters?

From the very GENESIS!!!

Why is it that Christian Sects promote the Shut-up-and-listen mentality?

Why does God ask you to have FAITH instead of QUESTIONING him/her/it????

Is that what you got from Mom and Dad? And did you like it???

I hear this all the time: Do YOU "KNOW" Jesus?
Have you?

I know my best friend, he is also my brother. I know when he's happy or sad, I can tell by his expression what he is thinking, I know what he likes and doesn't like, I don't have a book knowledge I have detailed knowledge of him...because I "KNOW" him.

Jesus said in Matt 7:15 depart from me ye that work Iniquity I (Jesus) never "KNEW" you.

Jer 33:3 say's: Call on "ME" and I will answer YOU and "TELL" you things that you do not know of.

If you "KNOW" Jesus tell me about him like I can tell you about detailed information about my brother...the one I "KNOW".

Jesus said he will be closer than a brother

DON'T tell me of the Biblical Jesus, I know every story, the childhood in Luke, the wedding, the ministry, the sermon on the mound...that's only book knowledge, like anyone you read about.

Tell me about what he's like...NOT bible, not historical facts...

IF you "KNOW" him tell me...like I "KNOW" my brother

They never cite any sources. I think it's common sense that practicing Christians do not go in much for armed robbery and narcotics trafficcing. I'm sure most criminals are quite without religion, whatever show they might put on for parole boards (or,in some instances, sincerely convert while incarcerated). I keep seeing these postings claiming "most criminals are Christians". Were did atheists get this strange notion?

My family is Jewish and we don't recognize him as anyone. He doesn't figure into our history in the slightest. We don't think he was the son of God, just a mentally disturbed guy. My Xtian school mates have tried to turn me to Christ, but I think its all made up myths.....I mean come on...how can an educated person actually beleive this stuff?

I am catholic. I have tried hard to keep a strong faith but I cant. I have started doubting my faith a lot lately and sometimes i think to myself "i am going to make a new religion onee day." I think i doubt it because in school we are learning about medieval italy and how the catholics treated other people. And in science i am learning about evolution and that is totally against my faith but i believe it more and more. Each time i learn something new at church, I always find a way to say its not true and i always find a way to not believe in it. I pray to God for him to give me lots of faith but its not working. I dont wanna tell anyone because they'll hate me especially my family.
What do I do? and How do I deal with this?

Quantum theory states that a particle can exist in one location in space and another, but not in between... Where does this matter go between locations?

The Heisenberg Uncertainty principal more or less states that you can USUALLY locate a particle in space, but there is no guarantee that it will be there.

String threory points to as many as 18 different dimensions...

In sub-atomic physics, you can impart motion on a particle based on the potential of your interacting with it...

This points to the possiblity that every decision we make - no matter how small, creates a different reality, so that there are litterally billions of alternate realities surrounding our existance. Our conscious mind chooses which of these time/space realities we should follow. Perhaps all of us live long and healthy lives, but along different reality paths.

Are we really a three dimensional space/time meat vehicle for a multidimensional being???
