mike, mike, mike,
calm down & stop shouting.
Who are you to call someone else stupid?
You're really better off calming down. Don't fret over such things or you might end up meeting your maker sooner than you realise.
God gave you free will to believe or not believe, leave it at that :P

Bad things happen to all people because "the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one." Satan. (1 John 5:19) or John 14:30 where Jesus said Satan was "the ruler of the world."
This is because of the question of God's right to rule His creations raised in Eden. Satan in getting Adam & Eve to break their 1 law, said the only reason man worshipped God is for what they could get out of Him, never out of love. Also, man could rule himself without God. This was futher stated in Job ch. 1 where Satan discusses with God the same matter.
Now God could have just wiped both Satan and man out and started over. His sense of justice kicked in. for the past 6,000 years, man has had his chance and failed every time. Satan certainly has been no help.
Soon, at God's own proper time, He will end this nightmare for humanity. It has always been His will for His original purpose to be fulfilled. That of perfect humans worshipping Him and spreading that Eden to cover the entire earth. Shortly, this will happen as the bible tells. That is why Jesus had to sacrifice his perfect human life, to prepare for that future.
Now, this is where free will comes in. In these last days of this wicked system, we must choose who we will serve: Jehovah God or Satan the Devil. It is one or the other. No middle ground.
We are blessed with a loving God. What of those who died never knowing of a choice to be made? Acts 24:15 brings it out clearly. "there is going to be a ressurection of both the righteous and the unrighteous." The righteous of course; but, the unrighteous who out of ignorance, never made their choice of free will to live under God's commands.

If such circular arguments bothered me that much, I wouldn't be hanging around this category.
Personally, I'm a firm believer in free will. And just because God knows when a leaf falls off a tree, I don't believe He necessarily yanked it off.

Does not bother me at all, because I recognize the fact that they do not have enough Bible knowledge to give you & intelligence answer.
Most of the people on Q&A could not hold a good Bible conversation with you, most all they believe is there is a Heaven & Hell, & they are saved, oh, I forgot, the Trinity.

I happened to arrange a grant of $750.00 for a needy couple just this morning.
God didn't force me to do it. I volunteered. And I was more than happy to help.
When a person prays, he gives God specific permission to "interfere" in his life, in a limited fashion, and for a limited purpose.
The church consists of around a billion people who similarly pray to God, and there are also billions of "unchurched" who know God in their own way, so there's no shortage of people who are willing to "work" closely with God in this world.
These are the ones who arrive on your doorstep with the 100 pounds that you so desperately need.
And once something like that happens to you ... you'll probably volunteer to return the favor someday, too ... if you're smart.

Predestination and free will is a very complex subject that many Christians still disagree on. My understanding of God is that he's so friggin' awesome he really can do both, even if we can't grasp it. Call it a cop out answer if you like, but there you go.
On the question of how God can allow natural disasters, well, if the world is fallen as the Bible says, and all of creation groans for redemption, then it would be only reasonable to think that there would be natural disasters, for it is thus a part of the fall and man's sin. God is all knowing, all loving, and all powerful, but are many more adjectives to throw in there. He's also sovereign, just, jealous, and righteous. One could follow the same question to say how can he not wipe us measley sniveling creatures off the face of the planet with those disasters, what's staying his hand? That, of course, is his love.
One last thought, and I'll leave it here. The purpose of creation, according to Christian thought, is to glorify God, not for us to be glorified. Seriously, if he wants an earthquake, who has the right to say he shouldn't make one?

Yes your right, God doesn't make us do anything..we decide ourselves to do right or wrong..good or bad..each one of us every day make choices.
As for natural disasters, same thing applies..God made a perfect world, I'm sure you've heard this before: people do wicked things and we have to live in this world with the consequences..
You will either get it or you won't..but i very much hope one day your heart will be open to understanding God's ways...
Love and respect to you...~~Shalom~~
Added: i understand what you say about hypocrisy, i can't stand it either..and one day God will step in and stop the wickedness...

Agree. Creation was once perfect but not anymore, God is there and with us in spite of what we would call natural distasters or evils. The worst evil is that which we can do to others.
As Christians we believe God will change the Universe and us at the end of time, in the meantime we have to duck those rocks!

Yeah, I see your element. only one question and all facets basically bypass loopy on one yet another. properly...i'm a christian and that i don't attack everyones perspectives, yet mine are firmly placed. i don't desire to tell all of us what to do, yet I discern i could be a jerk if i did not unfold the message that has made my life remarkable and has extra happiness and alter to the lives of many others. Wether or not others different than my view is as much as them (and that i will nevertheless love them and handle them with appreciate and kindness regardless). I unfold what i've got faith, with the aid of fact my ideals avert the desire to returned chew human beings, hate all of us else, create "undesirable" little ones and pointless rigidity on the monetary gadget, the subject concerns that overflow prisons and create a lazy and aimless technology, broken family members contraptions that tell their little ones to suck it up and flow on even while the mum and dad won't, breeds selfish people who could do all of us injury and because i desire to delight a loving God that i think of is attempting to assist his little ones without being to "pushy" as individuals are accusing christians of being. My concept is that God loves and has died for us. i've got faith for each individual (wether they think of i'm stupid or not, it somewhat is why real Christians are nevertheless around. Sorry to come returned off preachy human beings yet take it for romance. Take care!

HAHA.....when you ask stupid questions, try to back up what yo are saying. First of all you must understand the bible. God does give us free will, which is the main reason why we sin. But when some other person gives you something when you ask for it, it isn't the person giving it to you, it is God who is. He already planned it out. Therefore it is free will that the person is giving this to you, but it is free will that God has put in him/her to do this act. As for your natural disaster question, sometimes God has to allow these things to happen in order for his people continue remembering him. God let 9/11 occur, and afterwards, so many people went back to religion and God. Its sad, but it is the only way in today's society.

God gave convection currents free will to rise when warm and fall when cold. Resulting in massive hurricanes and tornadoes when different currents meet up.
Or it's hogwash. One of the two.
