"But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God."

Thoughts? How can that be?

There are many 'four letter words' that earn kids a mouthful of soap. At the same time we live in a society where there are people starving, people dying of preventable disease, people dying from untreated illness due to lack of insurance, people losing their homes due to unsavory credit practices, and rampant profiteering by corporations (medication, military and 'planned obsolescence'). To be honest, words don't bug me so much. Your thoughts, please?

They do:

1943 "LAWYER: At any rate, Jehovah God is now the editor of the paper, is that right? F.FRANZ: He is today the editor of the paper. LAWYER: How long has he been editor of the paper? F.FRANZ: Since its inception he has been guiding it. LAWYER: Even before 1931? F.FRANZ: Yes, sir. .. LAWYER: But you don't make any mention in the fore part of your Watch Tower that 'We are not infallible and subject to correction and may make mistakes'? N.H.KNORR: We have never claimed infallibility. LAWYER: But you don't make any such statement, that you are subject to correction, in your Watch Tower papers do you? N.H.KNORR: Not that I recall. LAWYER: In fact, it is set forth directly as God's Word, isn't it? N.H.KNORR: Yes, as His Word. LAWYER: Without any qualification whatsoever? N.H.KNORR: That is right."

I've been wiccan for 5 years, lately I've been reading up on some other websites and all of a sudden all of my believes seem to be wrong or historically inacurate.

Can someone give me a "this is the way it is" account?

Because from all the stuff I've heard, all I've been taught and have taught myself COULD be a huge lie...

I know the thought that you might be wrong is a bit hard to grasp but try to think about this.

If Christianity is the truth and the Bible is right billions of people will go to hell. Do you still hope your right?

As a mature person you can follow any religion you want, but I think the children should be left out of it until they're old enough to actually understand what they are being taught. To me it seems that by baptising and christening babies, communions, confirmations, etc. you are forcing young children into a religion. They should be able to explore different faiths and decide how they feel about it when they actually understand things, like maybe 13-16 years old. Little kids have no clue what any of it means, they just do as they're taught and told. Forcing a faith on them all their young life gives them no chance to actually THINK about what it is they are subscribing to, tehy just do it because that's all they ever knew.

don't you think if there is a god that humanity really deserves to know or be a part of him.

we are such an insignificant part of the universe that its easy to con ourselvees that we're that important, in the scheme of things.

if there was a higher being surely he would have better things to do.

just remind me of futurama when bender floats off into space and gets lost. he finds god, and tells him where he's from and about earth and god says oh and where's that then never heard of it....lol

As we celebrate the birthday of our most beloved church, that Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior established over 2000 years ago today. I just wanted to say that we need to keep the Holy Spirit alive in each and everyone of us to be able to do God's will, we need to reach out to one another at all times. Keep the Spirit of our church instilled in you at all times. Keep the love of Christ in your hearts and share that love and spirit with anyone you may come across. May God continue to bless us all and our church. His church will endure forever!!

Do you agree or disagree?

Do people feel that they need to be punished? Like if they are old enough not to be punished by their parents, they feel someone else has to do it, so they invent punishment within religion?

God woudl be the next logical step up without the parents in the way any longer. Maybe people just can't feel comfortable making their own choices and not being punished if they go wrong?

okay, ALL religions have been proven wrong. EXCEPT for Christianity. So that means God is real.

now take examle of pascals wager. so then since the "that wager couns for all gods" is disproven (previous paragraph), that means that pascals wager is a good arguement and that it is really better to accept God. So why dont atheist accept God? because they r lying to themselves. we have to pray that they see they r wrong and that God is real.
So atheists, will u accept or continue to lie?

Just because the US carved out a piece of land that didn't belong to them and told them to live there? Or is it because they believe that God gave it to them? Either way, their presence has caused a unending war over there, also I think that is why much of the Middle East hates us. Can you blame them? We steal their land and put people there.

Worst of all, I didn't even know until 10 minutes ago that Israel bombed a nuclear power plant in 1981!!! How dare them!! The effects of that could have been catastrophic had nuclear matter been stocked. I'm just about fed up with Isreal and the USA's endless support of whatever wrongs they do. Them and the Muslims are killing each other because they each believe their 'God' is telling them too.

please forgive me if I sound rude for this but please don`t offer me advice on getting help or finding another solution. Some times the only thing that stops me from doing what I believe is the only real solution for me and my family is the fear of going to hell.

Ive always thought that Catholisism came first, and any other Christian branched off and was a Protestant. I had people telling me the exact opposite the other day saying that Catholics were Protestants that branched of Christianity.

Now Ive always been tought that all of those people like Martin Luther went away from the Church and started their own, and thats how all of these different Christian churches formed? Can someone fill me in on what really happened?

Just you, no one else in your family.

And when you get there, do you think you really would want to come back. Yes or no, and why?
