Is it a sin to talk to non mehram men.. I mean just talk to them. Sometimes it creates an aukward situation when they come and stay at my place and I dont talk casually with them..

nooo ,talking in decent way is not forbidden ....as long as you dress decently,and talk to them without touching and you ain't alone with him.....it's good to have a nice relation with your relatives(selat al rahem)

I'm not a Muslim, but aren't they allowed to talk to cousins if there is an adult chaperon around? Or in a large enough group of young people that there is no suggestion of flirtation?

Talking is fine, as long as the two of the opposite sex are not alone in a room.

It is not sinful to talk to members of your family. If you feel awkward about being in their company alone, sit with someone else during your visit

come on man be a realistic guy. we are not living some 2000 years back. just talk to normal way and dont empower that opposite sex on u. u should have a powerin ur self. u can talk to any one in normal way.

I don't talk to my male cousins much....anyway, I find them boring!! I'd much rather talk to my girly cousins, we have more things in common, more things to talk about.
