Yes I did and some 35 years later, I recall her image and friendship with clarity. We met in an institution for drug addicts which allowed for communication between sexes and ethnicities. She was an almost albino young woman, didn't have the pink eyes associated with pure albinism, but was whiter than yours truly and had a magnificent red Afro and her name was Carrie, like the car, but without the horror of Stephen King attached. Very gentle woman, studied the Koran and assured me that "We are all flowers in Allah's garden" and did not at all appear to be attracted to the religion due to racial motivations. Islam quite lucky to get a devotee like Carrie or Mohammed Ali, formerly known as Cassius Clay and a far more famous black American than my dear Carrie. Well, hurrah for the middle-east treachings which did rescue Carrie from a most likely death by overdose, murder or heartbreak and at last contact, she never did sour towards her fellow Americans, just dedicated herself to living a better life.

Yes, several people, including myself. Why do you want to know?

I used to be a devoutly practicing, Bible studying Christian. One day during the sermon, the pastor made a comment that all Muslims are Satan worshipers. I knew this was wrong, because I knew that Jews, Christians, and Muslims all follow the one true God, the God of Abraham (pbuh). But that was all I knew about Islam.

I tried to talk with the pastor about his error right away, but there was a potluck scheduled that day, and I couldn't speak to him privately, so I went home. This pastor was a very knowledgeable man, so I couldn't just simply dismiss his comment unresearched, though I strongly believed it was wrong. I obtained a translation of the Quran and started to read.

I attempted many times to contact the pastor, to set up an appointment to talk with him. You know, "Reckless words pierce like a sword." If there had been a Muslim person in the church that day who was studying Christianity, he would have turned away disgusted. He never did return my calls or answer my letter.

My study of the Quran convinced me that Islam is the true path, and that Mohammed (pbuh) is a messenger of God. I went through an awkward time that I truly believed in Islam, but was afraid to commit, because it was much "harder" than Christianity, especially in light of the fact that the Quran says that ALL believers, including Jews and Christians, will be judged according to their deeds and faith, and have equal chance of obtaining paradise in the afterlife, but eventually I couldn't deny the truth any more, so on December 31, 2004 I declared my faith.

I met a British woman who converted for marrying and 3 months later disappeared from the house, never came back and took the husband and family to court over physical assault and psychological abuse... nice eh?

In my whole life I had seen other case, a drug addict with also psychological problems...uhm...sorry, it looks like only very, very lost people or people filled with society hatred do that.

Certainly with life of Mohamed, The Koran and Hardith Islam is not a religion for humanist people or "moralistic" nor the ones who believes in freedom of conscience.

See the Hezbolah sign for example, An Ak47 behing the world and the expression "fighting for Alah", since God is the creator how a people who kills can be adjudicated with the expression "fighter of Allah", certainly, is not a religion in my opinion for any intelligent person.

Sorry, but is my opinion.
