3Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

This is two separate individuals, also why is no mention made of the Holy Spirit? Or is it just a mystery?

What does the following Bible passage mean and why do you keep doing it when the Bible says not to?

Mat 7:6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

Why do you even read posts on here that are obviously meant to bate you?

You've all seen this: <><.

Who can make the best ASCII:
Darwin fish (with legs)
FSM (with Noodly Appendages)
Cthulhu (with, um, Noodlier Appendages)

using the <>< as a skeleton?

Why do some Christians reject creationism. Aren't they, by doing so, rejecting a major part of the Bible? Hence, rejecting the word of God?
It's like rejecting some parts and accepting others.
How can you follow a book, that is fallible? It's contradictory.
You either follow Christianity 100%, or not follow it at all.
You can't choose to follow 80% and reject 20%.

When Jesus says, "The things I do, You can do greater".
He didn't say "When you die and go to heaven then you can do greater"
Could it be that Jesus was trying to teach the people that they could all be like him. Please don't answer with what your pastor says it means. Use your own brain. Thanks.

Simply that. Isn't that contradictory to being a Christian? The way I see it, Buddhists are more Christian-like than (most) Chistians...

From talking to my friends who are Catholics, that's what I seem to get. They value traditions that have no Biblical basis at all, such as purgatory and that priests can't marry. In fact, some of my friends who are Catholics have been told to not read their Bibles at all. When I look at it, Catholicism is almost it's own religion separate from Christianity. Why is it this way?

if you read through the bible .. god always sent someone to warn a city, town or nation about the coming destruction before he destroyed them .... why ? think on it ... a warning is a given chance to change ways and avoid said calamity .... and that is what the book of revelations is ........ a giant warning for all of mankind .. change your ways or you will face this destruction.
think about it .. further more the destruction that is foretold in revelations ... you know who brings that on ..? we are .. as we go through this very day .. look at how we misuse the resources of this home that god gave us .. look at how we destroy the life that god so carefully put on this planet .. we bring about our own destruction both literally and figuratively

Where in the Bible does it talk about when Satan (lucifer) was cast out of Heaven and 1/3 of the angels followed him?

I mean, look around you. Evolution, adaptation, mutation...they all seem quite evident. The multitude of races is a proof of adaptation. Those living in hot places have adapted a dark thin skin, their skin resists heat. Those living in cold places have lighter and thicker skin. They are intolerant to heat.

How do you explain the multitude of races? Did God create Eves and Adams of all races? I think "race" is the best living proof of Evolution, or at least adaptation.

OK, they pray. So what.... Does God talk to them like he does to George Bush? What if he tells you one thing and someone else another? Do Christians let the pastor decide which goal is the worthy goal to achieve or do they vote on it? Does each individual decide for themself? Is there a cummulative effect that will attained from multiple God goals based on individual or multiple group decisions? Are these goals ever combative against one another? ( Iraq is supposedly the result of God guidance { GW said so} so why are things so bad there?) Is it God's will that some can afford health care and others can't? Is God's goal inequity in a nation that was established for the equality of all men? That's what we have!!!!! If that's the case then our forefathers must have read the God signs wrong or maybe you're reading them wrong today.

Or maybe there is no god.

I just came across this curious study which does not find a statistical effect of prayer on the life expectancy of clergy versus everybody else. A lot of the rest of the paper does seem to be anecdotical however. Comments and suggestions for more modern studies on the subject?
