I guess they missed the part in the Bible that tells you to love your brother/sister as yourself. i was taught to be nice (love) people who hate you. I don't know. I'm not like that :)

There are people in every religion who hate, though all religions teach peace and love for others.
I believe hate comes from the pain inside people, from lack of love, or envy, or feelings of insecurity, or unhealed hurts, and so on. All that we can do is offer kindness and love to these hurting souls, set an example, and hope that in time their hurts will be healed and their hearts will stop hating.

Because some are misguided and mentally disturbed which cause them to do ridiculous things, i.e. blow up clinics, for the "cause of religion" In reality you cannot be a follower of Christ with hate in your heart. For he who hates his brother is as much as wishing him dead. Every religion has extremists unfortunately. I am sorry if someone has done something to adversely affect you.

Hate is a human emotion. It can be absolved by asking forgiveness. Sadly most pseudo Christians here are so bound up in themselves and their own egotistical ideas that when called to judgement they will probably tell God he is wrong!!!

But take heart - most of these people have actually ceased to be Christians and become ideologues!!!

It is being so self involved that you must have outside acceptance of your views that drives many Christians to hate those who will not accept their views. It is the same reason there is a base of hate between the Palestinians and the Israelis.

No, all religions suffer from the same ills, and all exemplify the same virtues. Amercian TV presents an idealized image of Buddhism and a demonized image of Christianity. Having spent time in Buddhist countries, I don't see any difference. There are good and bad of both.

I think we all need to be careful not to misjudge any group of people simply because of the misguided extremists in their midst, the sordid incidents in their history, or the simple fact that their beliefs are different. I'm sure the ranks and history of nonbelievers is no more or less stellar.

In an ideal world, all Christians would exemplify virtuous living and Christ-like behaviour. Sadly, we're all still human...just forgiven.

Claiming to be a Christian and being a true follower of Jesus Christ are two different things! Jesus told His followers to love their neighbors as themselves.
