So you'd laugh at someone believing the WWE is real, yet you'd have no problem with someone believing in God? Actually a better question is have you ever thought "Hey this guys really smart and with it" only to discard this opinion when you find out they believe in something that most educated people say doesn't exist (God)...explain this please!

Are there more christians in this country than atheists or vice versa. I think there are more atheists as Christianity sadly is slowly losing ground as the representing countries fail in their duties to other religions.

Was just wondering if anyone had any good sites about Kabbalah (namely the origins, beliefs, practices/rituals, milestones…) they could share that outline all these things quite simply and ‘to the point’ (for a school project…). Thanks ;-)

I have come to see that there are many people on here that seem to think that the idea that because Christians have a belief system .. it means they're totally stupid, dumb etc. This is SO ridiculous.

What on earth does it harm YOU if I believe in God? There is NO harm to you at all. You don't believe it, but does that mean that I am a complete idiot for believing it? Does it make others complete idiots if they believe unproven theories too (like "big bangs"?)

Sometimes when I see the absolute attacking of Christians on here, I wonder if the people really are that strong in their 'non-belief' or if maybe they're freaked out that they might be wrong about it.. and just feel the need to go spastic?

I'm not trying to be rude here. In fact, I know that there are many Atheists that I have seen on here that are very decent and respectful.. But I am shocked at how some people get so 'pissy' about things. (And, yes, I know some Christians attack too.. I don't dispute that)...

I think that it is wrong, there is no evidence to prove it.
There is evidence against it! Dinosaur fossils are found in rock layers created millions of years before the first people were discovered. If both existed at the same time, and people were prayed on by dinosaurs, there would at least be a LITTLE evidence to say so.

What do you think about it?

When I talk with Protestants about the bible why is it that they rarely knowledge where the bible comes from?
Most of the time they are trained in an answer of it being the inspired word of God yet how did God place it in our hands?
Most of the time I'm left thinking they believe it fell from heaven in bound leather on Pentecost whats up with that?
And why the denial of oral tradition?

I asked the following and got answers that hadn't read the question or the Bible carefully:

According to Matthew's Gospel, before the death of Herod the Great in 4 BC, Jesus was born in Bethlehem. When the wise men show up, they're living in a house (Matt. 2:11). After fleeing to Egypt, they try to return to Judea (Matt. 2:21-22). So the family was from Bethlehem in Matthew.

In Luke's Gospel, on the other hand, the family is clearly from Nazareth. They only go up to Bethlehem for the census under Quirinius, which took place in 6 AD - it was connected with the institution of direct Roman rule when Herod's son was deposed, so it clearly happened after the death of Herod the Great. From Bethlehem they go up to Jerusalem, & once they had done everything required by the Law (Lev. 12 says this took only a little more than a month) they returned to Nazareth. Isn't it clear that these two stories cannot both be historically factual? http://blue.butler.edu/~jfmcgrat/jesus/quirinius.htm

i lost my younger brother recently , he was just 22 , handsome tall loving , he was about to be an engineer , i raised him with mom as i was already 12 when he was born , loved him like a son as i don't have sons , when i lost him i hanged on to my faith in islam and to my confidence that i will see him again in heaven in shallah , as he did no wrong and he was killed by mistake by his best friend who was cleaning his gun , so i would like to know how do people of other religions face facts like this , loosing a son or a brother that early ? how would a non believer find condolences while they believe that when it's over it is over , and also how do christians and jew react to this , in my religion we should be patient cause god repay our patience later on in heaven , i would really like to know is there any prize for patience in other religions , is there any difference between the one who dies on his bed and the one who got killed when he is still soo young as my precious brother ?

I am not a creationist. I will start off with that. I know people who are creationists and I know people who do not like creationists. Either way, this museum is ok. I was wondering why scientists were scrutinizing (sorry if spelled wrong) this museum. They are downplaying people religon as stupid. I know teachers teach the scientific stuff but many start off these lectures by saying that this is scientific information and that your beliefs may be different. Just because it is wrong in science does not mean it is wrong period. Scientists are "smart", we know that. However they need to understand that people believe in different things.

Noew to the museum itself. I have read about this museum over and over again and plan on going. On the inside this museum gives an indepth look at Genisis from the Bible. However around most corners they say that these are theories just like most everything else in science. I am running out of characters so i will stop it here.

From npr.org :
"Years ago, Americans grabbed toast and coffee for breakfast. Public-relations pioneer Edward Bernays changed that.

Bernays used his Uncle Sigmund Freud's ideas to help convince the public, among other things, that bacon and eggs was the true all-American breakfast.

He took Freud's complex ideas on people's unconscious, psychological motivations and applied them to the new field of public relations."

Public relations, propaganda, ministry of truth, mind programming, advertising ...ect...are the same idea has shaped the world as it is today !

With the massive knowledge & practice of "manufacturing of consent" from the past century - Would "manufacturing of Reality" be for 21 century ?

(example :. Senior Bush's message of NWO in Sep 11,1991 will be fulfill by His Son ?)

is this a sin that can be committed or is it a persistant thing?
is it worded differently in original translations?
do you know anywhere this has been studied thouroghly.
The bible doesnt say that feeling guilty for something means you aren't beyound forgiveness, but it talks about a certain fearful looking forward for those that deliberately sin, and a raging fire that will consume the adversaries of god?

Based on the pure fact that their god forgives them? Does that mean Christians will always be more moral than atheists because they are forgiven and we are not?
