please explain how a warlike, nomadic tribe could have figured out, so long ago, the order of evolution/science that is taught today?

In the beginning the Earth was a void, and darkness ruled the Earth

Then there was light

The darkness was divided from the light

Divide the waters from the waters

there was land, and sea

the Earth brought forth plants, seed, etc.

then there were lights (visible) from the earth

the waters brought forth plants and fish and creatures

the Earth brought forth creatures

then humans arrived

how did these people know this, 10,000 years ago, in the correct order, when they were just an ignorant, warlike tribe?

how? there was no science, no Darwin, no big Bang? How did they get it right? Or, mostly right?

Help me with this---this is a question, not a dogmatic statement. I am not a fundy.

In catholocism, most professions have a "mascot," usually based on a dead christian or a pagan god...Do liars, I mean, lawyers get one? Is it the same one for conspirators and extortionists?

I just don't understand why people can't mind their own business and worry about themselves. I read at least 35 questions a day from christians, gays, and athiests. All of them questioning each other. Honestly who really cares what the other person thinks. If it doesn't directly effect your life then don't worry about it. For the christians how does a gay couple really effect your life. Are you not able to work knowing there is a gay couple living in your town. Do you really stay up all night worrying about the sanctity of your marriage. Some how I doubt you do. As for the athiesist, who care if the christians think your going to hell. You don't believe in heaven or hell so what does it matter anyway. For the gays you know the christians think your a sinner and going to hell. Who cares! You know deep in your heart that your Jesus loves you and that the hateful ones are the ones in for the suprise. People need to fix their own lifes before fixing others!!!

I have had Christians praying for me all my life. Praying that I should see the the "light" or put my "worldly knowledge" aside and listen to them. The prayers to "save" the "unbelievers" variety.

Or we all know that famous line "I will pray for you" when Christians do not agree with you or what you believe.

But what gets me is that they have never succeeded in doing anything or even remotely changing my mind. The fact is that their response actually drives people including me further away.

When these prayers fail time and time again do they start doubting themselves or wondering what could be wrong. Do they than finally start thinking and examining themselves.

Please before claiming I am generalizing I do not think all Christians will do this, I know a lot of Christians I dearly love and we all have come to accept each other despite our differences. I think prayers to try and change someones mind is arrogant and wrong.

-The whole denomination was founded on the basis of slavery!

-Today it is the larges protestant denomination in the world!

-Yes our country made mistakes on slavery too...but, the country did not do it in the name of God and what was right by the Bible.
..
-To just acknowledge their role in 1995 shows that the fundamentalists/Baptists are out of touch with reality.

-How can we trust their judgement? Especially on issues like homosexuality and roles of women in the church? They are way behind times on these issues too.

-This is the largest protestant denomination in the country...they are core supporters of the Republican party.are they leading us down a road to destruction?

Abraham was chosen to be a Great Prophet of the Creator of the Universe.

Abraham had two sons who were both to be blessed with a Holy Covenant at separate times.

The Holy Covenant are promises from The Lord of Abraham in return for taking on the responsibility to "Make Allah/God known to the World" and establishing the “laws of God” on the Earth.

Ishmael - first son - ISLAM
Issac - second son - JUDAISM & Christianity

JUDAISM is the covenant through Isaac.
ISLAM is the covenant through Ishmael.

1-----After Abraham had lived ten years in the land of Canaan, Abram's wife Sarai took Hagar the Egyptian, her maid, and gave her to her husband Abram as HIS WIFE. -- GENESIS 16:3

2------So Hagar bore Abram a son; and Abram called the name of HIS SON, whom Hagar bore, ISHMAEL. - GENESIS 16:15

3 ------And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which [is] before Mamre; -- Gen 25:09

4 ------ Now these [are] the generations of Ishmael, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's handmaid, bare unto Abraham: --- Gen 25:12

5 ------- And these [are] the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam ----- Gen 25:13

I really need to know- how come some people think that abortion is better than adoption- first of all abortion is choosing death for the baby, and adoption is life- I can imagine that it is very difficult to place a child for adoption- but I am thankful that my birth mom did that for me. Also I have 2 adopted kids myself who have 2 very precious birth moms who chose life for them. What I really do not understand is this- "because there are many children who are stuck in the foster care system, it is better to abort, then for these kids to know that they were not wanted." Wait a minute- there are ways to make sure your baby is adopted, I know we went in that direction when we adopted- Don't you realize that the one who did not want the child was the one that aborted? I know that sometimes there is a lot of red tape to go through for adoption- that is not good, however, that still does not make abortion ok- I am writing this praising God for life.

The French Wars of Religion: Eight wars spanning 36 years between Catholics and Protestants. There was also numerous 'mini wars' within the two parties. In the end, nobody won.

The Crusades: Over 12 crusades between the Catholics and Muslims. That's right, the Muslims. Spanning over 196 years and costing hundreds of thousands of lives. In the end, nobody won...no Mission Accomplished.

Reconquista: Or 'Reconquest' was a 750 (no that's not a typo) year war between (guess who?) the Christians and the Muslims again. Millions killed. Nobody really won in the end.

The Thirty Years War: Thirty years of war between Christians and Protestants. In the end, nobody really won, and tens of thousands lost their lives.

In every case, Christians initiated the wars. In every case, nobody really won.
Now there is a new holy war between Sunnis and Shiites, a war being fanned by another Christian, George Bush.

Thoughts anyone?
