Christians.

Some scholars believe Paul created his own covenant and sacrificed his life to preserve the covenant with the Jews.

The Dual covenant theory proves this theory Correct.

If the Jews have a seperate covenant within the covenant then Jesus is NOT only way.

It seems to me as if all you guys ever do is Jesus bash. So here is a challenge. For a month, read the Bible, pray, try to get in touch with others who are godly and see how it makes you feel. But to do it, you need to do so earnestly, not just to find more reasons to bash the Lord.

Come on, you already believe that when you die thats it, what would be the problem with trying to see if there really is an afterlife, just in case :)

This is really ticking me off. I'm getting conflicting responses and it's annoying. Would someone please tell me whether God did or did not know that Adam & Eve would wind up disobeying him and eating the fruit?

And don't give me that "we don't know the mind of God" line. If you're not ACTUALLY going to answer the question then DON'T ANSWER THE QUESTION. Did God or did god not KNOW that Adam and Eve would bring about the "fall of man"?

So why does Paul condemn men who wear long hair and say that is goes against God and nature?

I recently read Osho's "The Book of Secrets" and responded well to his style of bridging Eastern and Western thought. However I saw the many contradictions in his writings as well as his practices while alive and I would like to know a less radical and controversial alternative.

Anything that is a good read on meditation, nonexistence of the past/future, tantra, and so on....

I am not looking for any type of strict dogmatic texts like that of strict Hindus, nor do I want any writings from cult-types like Osha's followers.

Okay, in recent questions it has been contended that as Adam and Eve and their children, being the first humans, pretty much had to do what we now call incest.

This was okay, because this was before the fall of man and they were prefect. But then the whole fruit and serpent thing happened, we got kicked out of paradise, and our DNA and everything wasn't perfect any more.

Then we get to Noah's time. Again, 99.999% of humanity gets wiped out. Noah and his immediate family survive.

The incest thing again?

Of course, if you don't take these stories as literal truth this question does not address you.

Christianity does not know its essence and is full of fluff, it does not correlate to the teachings of Jesus, it places too much emphasis on laws, rules and rituals. It tries to provide a system of belief, but that is not what Jesus intended. Too many Christians also take the Old Testament too seriously and consider every verse in the Bible to be an absolute truth. Christianity should get straight to the point and that is the gospel of Jesus.

Many people responded to that question and said that it was okay for Adam and Eve's family to reproduce through incest because their DNA was pure and wouldn't have caused any genetic defects.

Still, should genetic defects be our ONLY reason to avoid reproduction through inbreeding? Does it not seem wrong somehow that generations of people were forced to have sexual relationships with their parents, siblings, etc in order to maintain the human race?

I enjoy the church atmosphere, to some degree. I support the "love thy neighbor" attitude. I just happen to be an atheist and it's something that I can't overcome. I spent a great deal of my childhood in church and enjoyed it. I miss the atmosphere, but I refuse to be a hypocrite or a liar. I'm not going to pretend. Are there groups for people like me?

Why do people on the left, question Romney because he is a Morman? Sharpton questioned his belief in God. He lied after and said he meant the Atheist. I know what Sharpton said and I know what he meant. He is a leftist bigot.

Should not Hillary also be questioned about what she believes? What are her Christian values and what does she believe about Christ? "Oh, I love people", is not going to cut it.

Is this typical Christian bigotry on the left?

Who has lead a Christian life, the Clintons or Romneys?

And no, I am not a Morman.

I have been asked this question many times in my life by hurting people that want to believe in God but cant due to the circumstances of life. Im curious as to what you think! Of course I have my "reasons" as well, but Im interested in what you have to say! Almost every life has been touched by grief or pain of some kind. How is it then that some still believe in a loving & just God; and some dont? I myself have experienced alot of grief & pain. From my point of view, I couldnt have made it without God and His comfort. When I was 22 years old, with a 23 month old son & 7 months pregnant with our second child, my husband of only 2 years was killed in an automobile accident leaving me to raise 2 little boys on my own. I felt pain beyond description, yet I still knew God was holding me up, carrying me through, even when I couldnt "feel" Him. What about you? Whats your story? Thanks for your participation!

i consider myself to be inclusive and non discriminative against others for their religions, but recently i have done some travelling and was asked a question, and my own answer troubled me.

a coworker asked if i would be worried if a muslim was flying the plane. i admit that i would have fearful thoughts of getting on that plane, but it wouldn't stop me from actually getting on.

so i'm curious, does anyone else feel this way?

i am fully aware that most muslims are great people and i really mean no disrespect, i'm just being honest.

also, is there anything that muslims can do to help people stop thinking negatively about them?

I believe that we need to walk our talk and be imitators of Christ and that it is a priviedge - not a right to share the gospel and/or good news.

Jesus delivered sermons but he preached to people that willingly came and wanted to hear his message. He waited for people to ask Him questions before he blurted out His opinion. He didn't heal unless he was asked to. Christ respected people's "space".

What say you?

Is it fair to compare God's decision to stick the Tree of Knowledge smack dab in the middle of his "children's" garden to a parent who decides to put an open bottle of bleach right in the middle of their children's play room?

And of course, each parent warns their young ones that they shouldn't touch what was just put within their reach... then each parent leaves their young ones to their own devices.

Is that a fair comparison?

P.S. I know A&E were "adults"... but were they not childlike in their innocence and their "newness" to the world?

Name the odds of our planet being created from evolution, while adding our bodies would have the correct formula to live off of oxygen and be able to evolve from basic chromsomes.

Explain to me why humans since recorded data has existed has not yet evolve again.

When I was younger, I asked an Evangelical friend of mine to explain why Jesus was called the Son if he wasn't really a Son of anyone. My friend had suggested that Jesus wasn't literally the Son of God, that he was really the Father, and that the term Son was just figurative. So I asked him to explain that idea better--why even call him the Son, then? He said that it was just a term so that we could relate better to him. He said that if he were called God the Toaster Oven it would be the same thing. I know this sounds silly, but would someone please explain this concept to me? I believe that Jesus is called Son because he literally is the Son of God.
