I have been asked this question many times in my life by hurting people that want to believe in God but cant due to the circumstances of life. Im curious as to what you think! Of course I have my "reasons" as well, but Im interested in what you have to say! Almost every life has been touched by grief or pain of some kind. How is it then that some still believe in a loving & just God; and some dont? I myself have experienced alot of grief & pain. From my point of view, I couldnt have made it without God and His comfort. When I was 22 years old, with a 23 month old son & 7 months pregnant with our second child, my husband of only 2 years was killed in an automobile accident leaving me to raise 2 little boys on my own. I felt pain beyond description, yet I still knew God was holding me up, carrying me through, even when I couldnt "feel" Him. What about you? Whats your story? Thanks for your participation!

Why do bad things happen to good people?

Simply put it is Karma. Not saying you did something bad before in a past life so you pay now kind of thing, but more of a spiritual learning and lessons in life kind of thing.

We all are here in these vessels for a reason and that is to learn, become better and more knowledgeable souls, learn from hardships and triumphs, make decisions and live with those decisions, etc. We actually choose our lives, our parents, our destiny’s to live and learn various aspects, emotions, action/re-action, etc.

Personally I don’t believe in “God” as many religions cram down peoples throats. I believe there is a higher spirit or higher level of energy that is pure love. As spirits we are love and surrounded by love. It is only in our physical bodies do we know and feel negative emotions such as pain, heartache, loss, hate, anger, fear, etc. We are here to fulfill our Karmic destiny that we chose with the counsel and our spirit guide prior t our incarnation here on earth. Though the future is uncertain, there is a higher likelihood we will encounter the situations we agreed to face in this life in one form or another. It is all for spiritual growth and understanding. Everything has a purpose.

It is not God per se that is real, though if your religious beliefs tells you it is “God” then that is fine, however more then likely it is your Karmic destiny you are fulfilling. The “force” holding you up is more then likely your spirit guide who is there to help you through your incarnation.

I have been threw a lot in my life also i just recently lost my best friend and i know she is in heaven, I read the book of Job not to long ago and God and Satan have a conversation and God asked Satan have you tested my servant Job and Satan said that Job would not deny God because God has blessed him so much so God allows Satan to put boils on him in the end Job has lost everything but he still didn't deny God and I think that sometimes we are tested i know i have been many times. I am only 17 but i know where i stand with Jesus and I would do anything for him. No matter what the consequences.

Good question. I can not of course answer this and there is not a person that lives that can answer this questiona dn if they try they are being dishonest. So you will get the " god works in mysterious ways" answer of the " we can not know his plan" answer.
Myself, I wonder if their is a god and he loves and created us why does he allow us to suffer? If he is our Father and our protector why does he allow disease, war, famine, rape and anyother nasty thing you can think of. Is he there? does he listen? does he really care? For myslef I have found no evidence to support the beief in any god-claim at all. I have never seen or heard any voices ( other than my own) that keep me from doing stupid or dangerous things. I have not seen and innocent helped because of pray or becuase of their faith in a god. This life is a sad veil of tears followed by what we can only hope is a peaceful and painless death. I say that you should love yourself, your children, your family. Protect your kids from the harsh realities of the world as much as possible but also instill in them a fighters spirit so that they are not kept under a chokehold of some person that claims to have dominoin over them. I wish you all the best in your life and hope that your children grow up and become successful people and it may be about time that you stopped worrying about things that will never be able to be answered for you by anyone.

This is a difficult question to answer but to me the answer is simple, explaining it becomes more difficult. To start, I have heard from people who don't believe in God ask why would God do such things to us and the answer is he doesn't, then the question becomes why would he allow these things to happen and the best answer I can give is because of sin, this doesn't mean that I think that because you sinned in your life that your husband died, this is far from the truth. I believe that it is human kind as a whole that sins and then we all reap the suffering that comes from it. God has forgiven us of our sins but we must still pay a price for that sin, the best analogy that I can think of is this, a man breaks a law and he goes before a Judge, the Judge then decides to take away his jail time but he still has to pay a fine. i also believe that though suffering doesn't come from God he helps us grow from it and it turn hopes that we will help others through theirs.

God is supernatural and spiritual (if you believe in God). So there is no way to "prove" that God exists, because we generally "prove" things by way of physical tests and evidence. However, some valuable questions to consider are: - Is our life on earth all there is? - Is there a purpose to your existence? Regarding your question about bad things happening to people you worship God, the Bible has quite a few verses on that: Matt 5:45 .... For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike. Ecclesiastes 7:15 In this meaningless life of mine I have seen both of these: a righteous man perishing in his righteousness, and a wicked man living long in his wickedness. Ecclesiastes 8:14 There is something else meaningless that occurs on earth: righteous men who get what the wicked deserve, and wicked men who get what the righteous deserve. This too, I say, is meaningless. Ecclesiastes 9:2 All share a common destiny—the righteous and the wicked, the good and the bad, the clean and the unclean, those who offer sacrifices and those who do not. As it is with the good man, so with the sinner; as it is with those who take oaths, so with those who are afraid to take them. From these verses I think that "bad" things happening here on earth to "good" people makes more sense if there is a continuation to the story beyond this life.

1. Humans were created with free will which means we can screw up our lives and the lives of others.
2. We were never promised a pain free life only salvation and a perfect life hereafter.
3. Satan is alive and well.
4. God does not micromanage every area of every life.

I am sorry that you have had this suffering but do not believe that for one moment God was not with you. He feels your pain. He carries you through and he is not making you do all of this on your own. Hang onto Him tightly

He promised a wonderful life when we get to Heaven. He didn't say we would be spared the suffering of sin or other man made things. Sometime God uses thes hard times to test our faith in him. Some times Our sins from the past shows it evil head later. That is why we must always ask the Lord to forgive us and to lead and guide us. If we had no valleys we would not enjoy the hills.

if there was a kind and loving god... who knows what would happen... religions leave us out in the cold cause it's more about rules than comfort... I think religion messed up the human race and how they look at the world.. I've know enough hardships to understand where you are coming from but I've also recognized the healing power in the ability to cry and express our emotions.. this is a natural phenomena I think to many people attribute to some god... when we are over whelmed we break down and when we cry or express our emotions a healing takes place.. it;s like casting out negativity and then our mind has a moment to look at our lives and build a plan, like you lost your husband but you had 2 children to think about.... it's hardest when you have no one relying on you... because your mind looks for solutions.. it's just how we naturally function... instead of saying i know god is there... we can say when it gets to tough I know I can cry...

God is very much real! We will never be able to understand why things happen the way they do. I'm so sorry for your loss but happy for you that you know that God is with you. He must have felt that your husband would be of more help to you watching from above than on earth. Now he can be with you and your boys everywhere you go!
