If people understood servanthood...they would view it in a different light....Serving God,is for our benefit and spiritual growth..There is a joy in serving,when you really understand what is happening...Jesus said to his followers:"He that would be greatest among you..let him be the servant of all"...
Jesus,himself came to serve,not to rule.

You are a spirit being capible of service and relationship with the one who created you. But one serving does apply to both good and evil. If one isn't in service to the ONE, he or she is in service to the other, there is no inbetween. Either you will love the ONE you serve or hate him to which it is far better to LOVE GOD and hate the devil or you will love the devil and hate the one who created both heaven and earth. Besides, God has made those who serve HIM Kings and He is the Royal Commander of the highest order in the Universe and to refuse His calling as a king and to his coming kingdom would only be so foolish. I have chosen to take His call and as i did, he anointed me in divine service to which I am grateful and will do his will until i stand in his presense only to hear His Words, "Well done! My Good and faithful servant! Enter into the joy of the Lord! And may you do the same...

God the Father lives in community with God the Holy Spirit and God the Son. He lives that way. Love is service, God is Love.
We are not, as people, required to live in Love. We can choose not to. The choice and the consequences are ours.

He created us to be His. I think I need to rephrase that question in order to answer this- "Why would God allow us to serve Him?" It is such a privilege and I am so thankful that I have the opportunity to serve God through Christ, so that others will see that He is the One true living God.

I've been asking this question for years. I'll tell you now you're going to get the answer, "You have a choice to serve God." and "We serve him out of love, it's not a requirement." But then you'll be smacking your head against the wall because it will occur to you (not to them) that God punishes those who refuse to serve him. So they really don't have a good answer for the question.

For the same reason parents give their children chores to do, even though the parents could do them better and faster. Because they have to learn. An all-powerful God would presumably recognize that people have to learn how to do things by first obeying masters who know better than they do. That is, you serve the master UNTIL you learn enough to be a master yourself.

He doesn't.
He wants to be loved, because who wants to go through all of the trouble of creating a universe, just to see it filled with whinny ingrates who either ignore you, or curse your name? What does God get out of a deal like that?
===edit===
Why is everyone so shocked that God thinks of himself? Doesn't everybody?

Why not? He needs followers to show people here on earth, to spread the word if you will. I dont know really why dont you ask God on that one.
