I am an atheist and was raised that way. Lately I've been questioning my beliefs. I want to learn more about God, specifically Islam. I've met some very nice muslims, and none of them tried to force their religion on me. The christians have sent hate mail and the usual trying to force me to convert. Then there is the troll who hates Islam, but because of what the troll said I am now looking into it deeply. 7proud muslimah is a friend and has been answering my questions, and so is TS and various others. I'm very interested and would like to learn more. No, I'm not converting, at least not now, but I would like to learn more. Those who only know hate, stay away, because this is a question to find out more. The hatred so far only pushed me toward Islam, instead of away like the intention was. Thank you to the muslims in advance.

A while back, I posted a question in R&S. It’s since been deleted by yahoo, but to ask it, I needed to give a few details about my life. I described how greatly God has influenced my life, and, in order not to sound like just another religious person (i.e. stupid in an Atheist’s eyes), I simply gave a brief mention of my strait A's, my academic excellence, my ventures into such fields as particle physics, and so on. This angered many, many answerers. They accused me of having Schizophrenia, because of my faith, and furiously argued and denied that I, being 15, could have possibly understood particle physics as much as I did. The answerers were seriously convinced I was screwed up because I had faith AND intelligence, magnifying the overall ignorance of mankind. I ask you, why would you think what some of you thought? I've even researched schizophrenia and I have zero of the symptoms, aside from being saddened by current events and the flaws of myself and mankind.

Here Jesus says the real Jews are his followers and the disbelievers are NOT THE REAL JEWS.

Jesus also promises the believers, who are now called CHRISTIANS, that the disbelievers, who are now called JEWS, will always be under their feet as a symbol that Jesus Loves THEM.

Jesus calls the Jews who did not believe in him "WOLVES" and the Jews who did believe in him as "SHEEP". The believers should become as wise, sneaky and deceiving as the generation of Serpents/vipers otherwise they will not survive the onslaught from the disbelieving Jews ?

Have the wolves deceived the Sheep to such an extent that they now believe the very same people whom Jesus called Vipers and the Spawn of Satan are “GODS CHOSEN PEOPLE” ?

Acutally they were the “chosen people” before they rejected Jesus and a curse was put on them. God shifted the prophethood out of them and established a new “Jerusalem”(Holy city of peace) also.

“By deception thou shalt do war”

Instead of the disbelieving jews worshipping at the feet of the Christians, the Christians are worshipping at the feet of the “Chosen People” whom Jesus called the Spawn of Satan ?

I have had trouble with this one... my uncle Bill gave me this hypothetical story to explain it to me, and he said:

"If a bird were to take a single grain of sand and fly it to the moon, it would take two million years; one million years to fly there and one million years to back to earth. Now, this bird's mission will be to deliver each and every grain of sand on the planet to the moon - And when the bird finally flies back to earth to find his mission accomplished, infinity will only have begun."

I'd LOVE to hear other explainations of infinity - if they are interesting! :)

Why is it that most of you like to say muslims don't condemn terrorism, but when we do it's spam? Please, help us understand. A person who is a troll will post all of this garbage, and is accepted. But when we try to show they are wrong by using actual verses (where they only have words and nothing to back it up), we are told we are wrong. When we condemn terrorism over and over again and show it's not a part of our religion and we are just as angry, we are told it's spam. When we keep quiet becuase we know it will be called spam, we are told that "silence is acceptance". Can you please make up your minds and get back to us when you can actually make a decision? Thanks.

It happens at my church sometimes...but it's not a frequent thing...sometimes when people are praying they'll get so overwhelmed with the Holy Spirit that they'll fall down. I go to a Foursquare church.

When a Friedrich Nietzche or a Charles Darwin shakes his fist at heaven and says, "There is no God," why doesn't God zap him with a bit of heavenly reality? When I read the story of Job in the Bible, I'm sometimes amazed that he didn't finally become an atheist.

The Catholic doctrine of transubstantiation holds that when you eat the wafer and swallow it, it actually turns into Jesus' LITERAL flesh. Similarly, it holds that after drinking the wine, it turns into Jesus' LITERAL blood.

First: How is this not cannibalism?

Second: If the contents of my stomach were analyzed an hour later, would we find flesh/blood or bread/wine?
