why do people practice magic (magick) if it is going against god?

Why would that be worth burning in hell for if you can't even do anything that powerful?

I'm so glad we live in a world where you can choose to
(a) become a scientist, and spend your whole life gaining expertise in one or two specific fields of study to help those less experienced than you gain knowledge of how the world works, or
(b) become an expert in all fields of study by simply saying "God did it" or "The Lord works in mysterious ways."

Isn't religion great? Instant expertise! And unlike science, where all results will be put under scrutiny if they do not agree with each other to determine where the error lies so that it can be corrected... with religion if you and your neighbor have differing beliefs of the world you just have to respect each other's beliefs! Can't even question them without coming off as disrespectful!

I know that early religions and their gods didn't have the belief and it developed as humans and their society developed. Anyone know exactly when and how the belief in afterlife was developed? Did the early jewish tribes believe in a literal afterlife?

Spiritism is a religion and a philosophy that preaches the love for everyone around you, because we are all connected for a reason. Spiritism preaches that there is a life after this life, a continuation in a place where we learn and be prepared to be born again, over and over, until we reach such a high level that we dont have to be born again, then we will stay there just helping people that are still living here in this world. Spiritism preaches that we have connection with bad and good spirits and that they can influence us everyday. Bad spirits can make us commit sin, but the good spirits can make us do good deeds. The only way to stay tuned on the good spirits is through prayer. Spiritism is a Christian religion, because preaches His teachings.

You all know that Jesus was a teacher of moral magnitude. He taught to love your neighbor, to forgive and pray for your enemies. He had to deal with alot of harshness in his time and to "turn the other cheek" was his way of solving it. He was the epitome of the word "benevolent". He would perform miracles to the sick and needy. He gave comfort to the less fortunate, praising their way over the power hungry and wealthy. He spread his father's word and commited no sin. He hated hypocrisy and taught not to judge others. That in and of itself is enough to make him ok in my book. Despite all that he has done he has been called a liar, mocked and tortured before his final death. All of this and he still holds no grudges for the ones who have wronged him. "Father forgive them, for they know not what they do". But what if something had been done to him that no one ever thought of? What if someone went up to Jesus and farted right in his face? Do you think all bets would be off then?

Hear me out. Homosexuality is biological, and therein not immoral because gay people don't get to decide whether they're gay or not. So how could the bible say that homosexuals are going to Hell, when that's how God made them? (unless they do something horrible like everyother person but that has nothing to do with being gay)

There are more stupid atheist questions here than there are sane questions. After a while it gets quite irritating, and I start to answer back with a lot of sarcasm. Does that do any good? the origional purpose of the cahtolic church ewas to rally the romans around constantine, that is a FACT. the bible was written by a bunch of different dudes in different times, NOT by the hand of god, THAT is a fact. the church, thru the millenia have hurt countless people that they didnt like, that is a FACT. the christian doctorine is full of holes that cant be filled (so does science, but science by nature is answers change as new fact emerge, not true with religion) the holes in doctorine, are FACT. the way the doctorine sounds to a non believer is outright crazy, this also is fact.
so there, i outlined pretty much all the arguments we "antagonists" make. they are all facts, look it up, youll see its true. bible verses have no place with these ideas. thank you and good day.
