why do people practice magic (magick) if it is going against god?
Why would that be worth burning in hell for if you can't even do anything that powerful?

I am an understanding person and know that not all people worship the same religion but if you don't believe in the same god as me then answer me this.
why practice magic (magick) if you cant really do anything that powerful with it?

satanists are just polytheists with power as they see themselves it might be against our God the on e true God but not their satanic idols and "gods"

There are actually plenty of magic practices that are very compatible with the Abrahamic God (I'm assuming you're referring to him/her/it, judging from your post), Kabbalistic Mysticism being one. As for other magic practicioners, maybe it's because they just don't believe in hell and don't believe it's going against the Abrahamic God because, after all, how can you go against something you don't believe in?
But I realize that I'm more than likely talking to a brick wall and you're probaly going to keep thinking of magic practicioners as hellbound no matter what so I'll just say thanks for the 2 points.

I will not worship your god, no matter how many times you try to sell me fire insurance.
There is no hell, there is no torment, there is no damnation.
I refuse to worship your god on moral grounds. If I can be more moral than a "supreme being", then that being doesn't deserve my worship.
I'll practice magic or anything else I like with no fear and no regret.

Depends on what you believe. Hell is a Christian made place to keep the masses in line, to live in fear of God. Magick is practiced by those who believe that it gets them closer to their god/dess, there is no fear.

You realize, of course that no matter what religion you practice you are pissing off some God or other somewhere or other.
You just better hope you got the right one.
It would be a real pain to wake up dead facing the wrong dude.

your god wrote 10 rules and a book of laws for his followers to follow.
i do not worship your god.
i have my own gods and they give me the rituals and spells that i am to preform in their names.
because i do not follow your god, he has no power over me or my soul. your hell has nothing to do with me. that is a place designed by your god to punish your people that are not good enough for him.
my gods will judge me when i pass and will decide the fate of my soul... which by the way is either to return to learn more..or stay there and begin to teach others. no hell, no punishment. no threats to gain worship...
so i would ask you why do you worship a god that lies to you and has to threaten you to get you to worship him.
by lies to you i mean that if he designed a place to send you to if you break his rules and that place is a place of eternal suffering, he cannot possibly love you. if you love somebody you can not even think of torturing them. let alone doing it for eternity.

You're making the faulty assumption that people believe in your silly little god. If your god doesn't exist (and he doesn't) why would anyone care?

I think that when people do magic, its dumb. Yea, it is definitely against god and then should stop doing it because god doesn't want you too. I am a christian, and i think magic should stop.
