Are we all our own gods?

Too often, yes! A god need not consider others' point-of-view or the good of the larger community before acting. A god need not think, "could I be mistaken in knowing what is the best thing to do in this case?" A god simply does whatever appeals at the moment.

Many people are their own gods, acting on whim.

Trouble is, when a mere mortal acts as if he or she is a god, there can be unholy consequences.

From these we get shootings, wars, road rage, domestic violence, child abuse, tyrannical governments, oppression of the poor by the rich, and generally "man's inhumanity to man." Because many people don't want to consider that they are only human, just like everyone else, and that there is a God in Heaven to whom they are accountable. Just like everyone else.

Back when I was a LaVeyian Satanist I believed this, yes.

I have since left the path and moved on but if someone wants to believe this, I'm not going to give them grief about it.
