Hear me out. Homosexuality is biological, and therein not immoral because gay people don't get to decide whether they're gay or not. So how could the bible say that homosexuals are going to Hell, when that's how God made them? (unless they do something horrible like everyother person but that has nothing to do with being gay)

I'm not gay by the way, I'm just sticking up for my friends who are since most of them are some of the best, nicest people I've ever met.

If I offended anyone by the word "gay" I'm sorry. I didn't realize that it might be offensive when I typed the question, my apologies.

The anti-homosexuality in the bible is due to: the early jewish tribes wanted to increase their numbers and to distinguish their practices from other groups; they then had their deity divinely mandate procreative sex (in Leviticus). It made it into the NT because Saul of Tarsus (St. Paul) was Jewish and conditioned for years in that society. Hence, when they decided to include some of his letters to the early christian communities (e.g. Romans, Corrinthians), we get references to anti-homosexuality.

Hello sweet Caity S.. :)

Before someone gets angry, please let me have the chance to explain..

A man and a woman are made different, genetically and also physically..which makes us biologically not the same..

One is not born a pedophile, murderer, adulterer, homosexual etc..It is of ones choosing..

My sister was gay for 20 years, she was in 2 relationships with other women..Never a man, she was not interested in dating men, she did however have many male friends..

My sister said, she was convinced she was born that way, some doctors even told her, she was..she was ridiculed many times, so how could anyone say she had chosen her lifestyle..

When my sister asked Jesus to be the Lord of her life she no longer wanted to be with a woman..

She has been happily married for over 20 years, has 5 boys and 1 precious little girl..

In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..In Christ.. :)

Don't get mw wrong i agree that homosexuality is genetic therefore natural and not wrong immoral etc etc....

However the Church has basically turned their opinion around as they have done many times previously. Example burning people alive for saying the world wasn't flat.

Most sects of the Cristian faith are at least gay tolerant if not fully supportive so at least they are moving in the right direction.

I think what we really need to do is to stop labelling people. For example just because someone has homosexual sex doesn't mean we should assign a "gay" label to them. Or if a black man runs for president we should try to avoid saying theres the "black" candidate.

The point I am making is that we all like to categorise people for convenience. Then we tell ourselves that we must not judge them because of the labels.

If we did not assign labels to begin with then essentially we could not have any prejudice consciously or otherwise.

It is not as easy as it sounds our socities inadverently condition us to apply these labels. You must unlearn this conditioning then you will see the world as it really is, you might not like what you see though.

To say that this lifestyle/choice is biological is absurd and highly misleading. Is the desire to takes someone`s life, and steal biological as well? Did you notice that the things I am describing are behaviors. All behaviors are influenced by our environments. God said he does not tempt us to sin but we are tempted by our own desire. So God does not make our orientation but we choose it hence the word orientation. Everything in life is choice. God gave us the gift of life which only comes from the product of Man and Woman. Will you promote a lifestyle that takes that gift away?

James 1: 13-14 says, "When tempted, no one should say, 'God is tempting me.' For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed."

I'm not sure where you are getting your information from, but there is no significant evidence that homosexuality is biological. This is most obvious in the fact that man + man = disease. Human beings are sexual beings, if you look at other sexual creatures in the universe, you would see that there are no homosexuals among them. This is because in order to procreate you must have two beings from the opposite sex in order to have babies. That's about as biological as it gets. God does not send homosexuals to hell, in fact He doesn't send anyone to hell. People go to hell because they chose to be there. We do evil things, and in the sight of a holy God, it must be punished. But God is merciful! He made a way for us to get to heaven. Ask for His forgiveness, put away our evil (this includes everything from lying to homosexuality to murder), and follow Jesus. We are going to struggle with this, but God has promised to give us favor if we seek Him. The issue isn't God sending homosexuals to hell, the issue is why would you want that when you can have heaven?

I'm not arguing whether its biological or not. fact is, it is still a choice. And God doesn't make your body, that's what He made fertilization for. if you say you have a hormonal disorder, I won't argue. but here me out on this...

whether or not you have the "feelings", it's the relationships that matter. So if you believe it's wrong, do not condone it, and do not practice it, by God's standards you aren't homosexual, just like a person who hasn't murdered (hate, acceptance, act) is not a murderer.

understand? please don't take that the wrong way...

Why is it that people try to use the bible when it is convient for them but totally ignore it when it clearly states what is wrong or right premitted or not premitted? Paul said we all fall short in meeting the mandate, but we still must strive to do the right thing...He goes futher to say that "Even though I try to do right evil is ever so present!" Therefore this walk we have to travel is not easy, but we still must search to understand Gods ways and purpose on this earth it is not to pleasure your nasty body, and to do this we must have a realationship with him and study his word and apply it to all of our lives We have to sincerly pray and ask for his healing power and love grace and mercy whatever it is we are struggling with! It is through our devotional honor and love for God that *He will heal us, but we have to want to be healed. Drugs, killing, and all kinds of evil, Adultry, fornecation and Homosexuality, all sin is wrong no matter how good of a person we think we are trying to be. The devil takes our flesh and uses it against us and sex is very powerful in this way it controls our body and mind, but we have to make up our minds that we are stronger then our nasty flesh and try to please God not our body.... Im sure the blind man that Jesus healed did not want to be blind and he could not help it, but because of Jesus and the blind mans faith to beleive and wanting to be healed he was healed...The cripple that was heal outside the city gates begging for money had given up on being healed he had accepted his fate until Peter I think it was told him "Silver and Gold I have not and commanded this man to pick up his bed and rise and walk! He too desired to be healed so what we see and come to understand is that Jesus and his diciples came to save a hurting people dying in filty sin! We no longer have to accept the devils lie we can be made whole! Sin is sin period and we all need to get a grip and stop dogging out each other and get it right! Umarried sex, homosexual sex prostitution and even orgies all listed in the bible is wrong! Murder is wrong stealing is wrong, telling lies is wrong all wrong! I have found people just want to justify their wrong because its easy to not change then to do the right thing rather than deny their flesh. It is the spirit of the Anit Christ! To deny the Christ for ones own little nasty pleasures! We are all going to have to change! The good news is there is a way to change, but we must want to change and stop giving in to our lusty selves and sell out to God! "With love and kindess have I drawn thee"....Amen

Homosexuality is not bioligical and it is by choice that one becomes gay. It is because of where they grew up or what they watch on tv that one becomes gay not by genetics. God didnt make them gay. Even if they are gay, god can change people if the person preys and doesnt wanna be like that anymore.

The Bible doesn't say homosexuals are going to hell, it says sinners are going to hell. Homosexuality is sinful behavior, just like beastiality, fornication, incest, etc. They are all deviant sexual practices that have been forbidden of God. It is not the orientation that is sinful, it is the behavior.

I think your title to this question is correct.. It is Homosexuality vs the Bible. One is the way of God one is the way of sin... I say that homosexuality is a choice. It has nothing to do with with how they were created.... Jim
