I watch CBN, and its all about people giving to others and helping the world. I want to do it so bad, but am in a bad situation myself with money, etc.
I am curious if anyone thinks its true that if you give, and the more tides you give the bigger God will reward you?
Some people on that appear on the show say they gave the last money of what they had and all a sudden they were blessed. I want to believe it so badly, and I would love to do that to help others because I love helping the people in need, but Im scared to give my all, all that I got. Do I need to trust in the lord more, and believe this? I just dont want to give everything I have then have totally nothing at all.

What would you suggest to a person who loves God and also would like to get into the spiritual side of life, however, HATES religion and considers most pastors and big name preachers to be hypocrites? I grew up in a Christian household and was a part of many different churches, however, the people I met there were the most evil, judgemental, gossiping hypocrites I've ever known. They were worse people than the people I knew who weren't Christians. Is there a church that is open minded to people of all color, gays, the poor, the down and out, etc. Is there a church that focuses on helping the community as opposed to preaching AGAINST the people in the community, such as gays, etc. (I'm not gay but I hate people who are closed minded)?

Is there a religion who is actually good? I can't stand churches where people pretend to get the Holy Ghost and fall down dramatically and they just act like buffoons while they are there. I consider it all to be a show and fake.

Any suggestions?

I am a Catholic who is very involved with my church and wants to be married in my church, to raise my kids in the Church, etc. I am friends with a guy who is very commited Baptist. He is not so strict that he doesn't dance or go to movies, but he does not drink or smoke and is fairly conservative and I know that he would never convert to Catholicism, just as I would never leave the Catholic Church. I can respect his religion, and he respects mine. But, before I start anything I am trying to figure out if it's even worth the time and emotion and effort if this could never be a longterm thing because of issues with religion. Has anyone else ever had this sitatuion, and how did you resolve it successfully?

there is a prophetic statement in Sahih Bukhary tells that prophet Muhammad went through some hard time when he could not receive any revealation from god. The statement tells that he was so upset that he tried many times to commit SUICIDE (by throwing himself from mountains) until angel Gabriel appeared to him and told him not to do that.

Is that statement true?

What I want to know is what and when was the first religion. Was it Egyption Mythology, Greek Mythology, Judaism, Hinduism, or some religion that is no longer practiced today. When did it first appear.

I do not believe in a sentient being in the sky. I do not believe that we were 'created' in the biblical sense. I do not believe that there is punishment or reward after this life, only rest.

I do believe in the creative life force that is in all things. I believe that this force is the first cause, however that it is not a conscious being acting as some sort of orchestrator. I believe that we can "tap" into this force through nature. I know evolution to be true...as life and the life force always find a way.

God, which is simply the Tao, the Cosmic Yin/Yang, the Creative Life Force, the Schwartz, or the Big Nothing, has no need for praise of any kind, because it is an entity/force complete unto itself. It is not a sickly human being who feels as if nobody loves it if other petty and puny human beings don't suck up to it and tell it is loved. It is a force, an energy....not a being.

So...am I theist or atheist? Both I would imagine, but I want to hear others thoughts

My dad has a lot of pagan friends down in Birmingham, and he invited me to come with him for Ostara (since I am studying Wicca.) On the one hand, it would be a great way to meet other witches, but I'm not really all that familiar with everyone in the circle. I've always been solitary, and I don't know how comfortable I'd be during ritual.

What are morals?

"a relative thing, for example even Hitler thought he has done a moral thing by "cleaning" his country of Jews... Moral for someone is immoral for others... it`s just something relative.."

"Whatever the society establishes it to be. In a Christian society it is the teachings of God."

"Whatever society decides it is."

"We are social creatures. "Moral" is simply being a part of the social group. "Immoral" is going against that social group."
