I do not believe in a sentient being in the sky. I do not believe that we were 'created' in the biblical sense. I do not believe that there is punishment or reward after this life, only rest.

I do believe in the creative life force that is in all things. I believe that this force is the first cause, however that it is not a conscious being acting as some sort of orchestrator. I believe that we can "tap" into this force through nature. I know evolution to be true...as life and the life force always find a way.

God, which is simply the Tao, the Cosmic Yin/Yang, the Creative Life Force, the Schwartz, or the Big Nothing, has no need for praise of any kind, because it is an entity/force complete unto itself. It is not a sickly human being who feels as if nobody loves it if other petty and puny human beings don't suck up to it and tell it is loved. It is a force, an energy....not a being.

So...am I theist or atheist? Both I would imagine, but I want to hear others thoughts

Some time back I saw a presentation of all the parts of a clock coming together just by chance. The little wheels, the hands, the face of the clock...etc...and wow...suddently it began to keep time and to keep it perfectly. How absurd, you say. Yet the earth turns at exactly the same rate of speed each day and has for thousands of years without changing by even a microsecond, using its force of gravitational pull to hold us exactly in place and people feel this could just happen???
It's odd to me also that in spite of our galaxy and all the other miraculous creations one can deny a creator. And yet, in a moment of grave circumstances where life is about to be snatched from us most will cry out..."Oh God, help me!!!" What label would I give you? I believe that deep inside you very much need and want to believe that there has to be more to life then just the often mundane routines we each face daily. God says that those who search for me will find me. What do you have to lose? Why not give it a try?

"I do not believe that there is punishment or reward after this life, only rest"
Where you resting? Are you conscious of this rest, or just non-existant? If you are non-existant , the there is no rest, no anything.

"I do believe in the creative life force that is in all things"
What is this "life force"??? Where did it come from??

"entity"??? really???

Pantheistic Gnostic Taoism -

I wouldn't spend too much time developing this 'belief' system further, or the Theosophical Society will call you a heretic, and you'll be left to seek out 'The Way of the Masters' all on your own.

i would say theist, not athiest at all really. just because you do not label your spiritual path doesn't mean it isn't a valid way of relating to your understanding of god. there are many faiths that have similar beliefs in their structures, i'm thinking especially like judaism and eastern philosophies that are more action than faith based. if you really want a label or just want to know which ones my be a good fit, i would check out beliefnet. this quiz is fun and suprisingly accurate

You sound like a Pantheist. Have you ever read Baruch Spinoza? You might like him.
