Geezz! Read the Bible!
First God wrote the Bible, then He created Adam and Eve, with the ability to read.
I get so tired of all you atheists who never even read our Bible!

Yes, look at Abraham (Genesis). The Bible had not yet been written when Abraham was alive and "friends" with God.
God doesn't call you a friend unless you love Him. Therefore, before the Bible was written, Abraham was moral.
You don't have to read the Bible to have morals or ethics.
However, having morals and ethics does not mean you get into Heaven.
Clearly, that is the gift of salvation, through Jesus Christ.
Peace be with you.

depends on how you look at it.
1. if you look at the Bible (in its present form - what the council of Nicea decided was to be included as the Holy text) then the answer would be yes, morals existed prior to the Bible.
2. if you look at the Bible as literally the word of God - then the answer might be no (if morals can only be had by people) The word of God would have existed as long as God himself, which would be always so no - nothing would come before God.

actually yes, you may be suprised but not everybody reads the bible (my parants are catholich im athiest) and i have morals, and i think thats the stupidest question ever, there were many great civilizations before the bible was written, like maybe Greece, or Rome (rome wansnt always christian) and the Incas etc, they all had gods (which by the way they thought was the altemt truth, just like christians, Jews and anyother religions) and all had morals, similar to ours today. so the anwer is common sence makes morals not the f*** bible

Yes, morals existed from the beginning. That was the very first thing Adam and Eve realized after they ate of the fruit. Not that they were naked to each other as they were given to each other by God as husband and wife. But more, they were afraid to appear before God in their nakedness because they knew that public nakedness was wrong. Thus, the beginnings of morality.

Of course they did.
Human civilization pre-dates the bible by many thousands of years. Humans were able to cooperate and develop systems of law and justice long before the 10 commandments were written. Those societies flourished and evolved like all things.
In order for a group of social animals like humans to persist, they must established codefied behaviour or 'moral behaviour' to keep things moving smoothly and progress.

Yes. I believe god engraved the morals to our souls. We all know what is right from wrong even if we do not believe in God. When God gave us our free will, He knew He better take care of this thing. Some people would not love Him back, but at least He gave us knowledge about what is right and what is wrong. That is the thing when Gd says we are made in His image. We know the right from wrong, even when we do wrong. : )
