My dad has a lot of pagan friends down in Birmingham, and he invited me to come with him for Ostara (since I am studying Wicca.) On the one hand, it would be a great way to meet other witches, but I'm not really all that familiar with everyone in the circle. I've always been solitary, and I don't know how comfortable I'd be during ritual.

Go and enjoy yourself, network, meet others of your faith...Too many Pagans hide behind the monitor these days instead of getting out and celebrating together...

It depends on a number of things.
I have no trouble hanging with solitaries of the same tradition as I and my group belong to, but I don't go to public circles because I've seen too many really crappy people try to pull the uninvolved into their dramas.
If your dad has never circled with them, I'd send him as an emmissary, but that's me.

I think you should go. Are you kinda shy? I know I'd be uncomfortable around a group of people I didn't know either. But I really think you'll have a great time, and I'm sure they're really nice people. Give 'em a chance. :) I think you'll be glad you did. It will, in the very least, give you the experience of group ritual.

i'm also solitary, but i have never passed up an invitation to join in a celebration. it can only help you to grow.
the last one i went to was held in a park in a nearby city. there was at least a hundred people there. the energy was incredible.
i would go.

go but stay with the people you know till you relax and get to know some other people. have fun. too many of us hide and there for when i get the chance i jump on it.m y method of relaxing be for meting a bunch of new people is too just drink one Smirnoff twister b4 hand but that's just me.~*~Blessed Be~*~
