I ask this, not in the sense of why can't a christian say believe in what a hindu or buddhist things, but rather in another way. I've discussed theology with friend and online before, and despite the fact I am an atheist I am quite capable of digesting the information of a particular theology and discuss it's aspects within the context of that particular religious belief. The vast majority of christians I have either met however, or talked to online can't seem to escape their monotheistic abrahamic religious context with trying to discuss other religions. So why do you think that is?

How do you hear some farfetched stories and start wars over them. A christian will preach about how it's wrong to kill, then praise their son for being in the war........KILLING?? LOL Not only does the bible contradict itself......the people that believe in it do the same damn thing.
Silly christians-myths are for kids

In the Jungle Chimps were observed dancing a set dance, at regular times and intervals over and beside the waterfall. They have apparently been doing this intricate dance for many generations, nobody knows quite why but, the raindance and waterfall rituals observed at Gombe may represent a rite or a ritual.

There are so many story's in the Bible that have been embalished along the way before it was written. If I told 20 people a story of someone great I new, in 1 year you can betcha, the story I told will have grown larger than life and told so much more exciting....... There was obviously a man called Jesus, but did he do all those wonderful things written, somehow I dont think so...... One big Chinese Whisper

support the Iraq war when the Bible clearly states "Thou shalt not kill." Is it revenge for September 11th? Isn't seeking revenge a sin as well? Is killing folks ok as long as you think your justified in doing it? Or does it just apply to those who aren't Christians? How are you justified in calling someone evil, yet get offended when someone calls you evil in return?

I wrack my brain, trying to figure out how so many Christians can reason the answers they reason.

Having been de-converted, I understand what a Christian believes. But there's a big hole somewhere - like this galactic bell-curve that just prohibits any measure of sound reason.

It's like a scary movie - a Twilight Zone where everyone around you is kind of insane.... Not a lot, they can speak English and drive and shop... But really!

It is astounding how much of the essence of the meanings of so many of these questions Christians completely miss!

If anyone knows of a genetic component that would correlate religious belief or faith with an inability to reason properly, I would love to hear from you.

Likewise, in psychology. I realize that many Christians have been indoctrinated since childhood and that this type of early predisposition to bypass reason can galvanize into a reality/delusion complex where the "victim's" ability to critically investigate their beief, dies.

You can tell a fool by the multitude of his words, O so true!! Ecc 5:3 For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool's voice is known by the multitude of words. I use to believe this passage dealt with talking alot! But it is actually referring to lack of wisdom lol! Examine it, you can tell a fool by the senseless madness which proceeds from his mouth!! Any man who denies Jesus Christ is ignorant! Any man who declares lies is ignorant of the consequences of his crime. Any man who does anything unholy is ignorant. And man who speaks untrained is ignorant, you can tell a fool by the multitude of his words lol!!

I like people, but I am sorry, there is nothing God can do to make me want to be around anyone forever.

I want my alone time. I really want to be alone forever. Never talking or speaking to anyone. Just learning.

But evidently, God pees on my will with his much greater will, since he sees that it is better to force a shy introverted human to fall prostrate on hands & knees, humiliated & embarrassed beyond belief in front of millions of other believers.

Made to cry like a sissy pig over sins, made to call him God, admit I am nothing, the whole 9 yards.

Why does God get such a thrill out of bashing humans for things they cannot help? I cannot help being shy, & never want to live forever around other "Christians" cause I just like livin' alone.

I can't down here, cause we are forced to depend on each other. Guess it will be the same in heaven?

Guess I will be forced to slave away all day too? Whew!

Can't I just die to get away from Hell-ven?

1. He spent some time in a cave (like a bat)
2. He is not too fond of crosses
3. He offered people eternal life if they drank his blood
4. It is said that he rose from the dead
5. He vanished into thin air
6. He could change shapes ("I am the door" and "I am the vine")
7. He could hypnotize people (what we translate as "passion" means intoxication or trance-like state)
8. Those who drank of his blood also lived in caves (Cappadocia?)
9. He compared humans to livestock, with him as their master (flock, shepherd, etc.)
10. Anne Rice wrote about him

There are many verses in the bible that contradict this...1 COR 7:2 -"But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband. The husband should fulflill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. In the same way, the husband's body does not belong to him, but to his wife. "

Not only in Genesis does God destroy Soddom and Gemmorah for homosexuality, but check out 1 COR 6:9. : " Do you not know that the the wicked will not inheret the kingdom of God? Do no be decieved. Neither the the sexually immoral, nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes, nor homosexual offenders, nor the greedy, nor the drunkards, nor slanderers will inhereit the kingdom of God.

Great news that our Lord has promised! : 1COR 6:11 - But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the LORD JESUS CHRIST, and by the Spirit of OUR GOD.

Or do you think he will cry like a sissy & try to wiggle out of it?

They just want people to be happy! The Vedas do not contradict any other Holy book, they are sufficiently ambiguous to be in agreement with all religions! A group of people out in the streets saying people should avoid the self-destruction of your bodies and try to seek happiness and fullfilment for your SOUL not for you BODY, and yet people make fun of them. I don't understand it.
