"What separates us as believers in Christ is much less than what unites us." (Pope John XXIII)

Almost all important doctrine is completely agreed upon between Catholic Christians and other Christians.

Here is the joint declaration of justification by Catholics (1999), Lutherans (1999), and Methodists (2006):

By grace alone, in faith in Christ's saving work and not because of any merit on our part, we are accepted by God and receive the Holy Spirit, who renews our hearts while equipping us and calling us to good works.

There are many minor doctrine issues and some major cultural traditional differences which, I believe, do not matter that much.

A Catholic worships and follows Christ in the tradition of Catholicism which, among other things, recognizes that Christ made Peter the leader of His new Church and Pope Benedict XVI is Peter's direct successor.

+ Mixed Marriages +

The Catholic Church allows marriage between Catholics and non-Catholics.

Because the Church recognizes the tremendous challenge that the interfaith couple will face, they may have to get permission from the bishop.

There are many successful marriages where the spouses belong to different faiths but they do have extra challenges.

Catholics are Christians. Long time ago, Christians were called Protestants. Long time ago, Christians and Catholics were one. One day, Martin Luther decided he will create his own Church. He separated from the Catholic Church and caused the first Protestant Church. Henry the VIII also wanted to separate from the Catholic church because he wanted to divorce his wife. So another Protestant Church was born. So now we have Lutherans, Anglicans as Protestants. Then from there the Protestants said Sola Scriptura. This means they only follow the bible and no longer adhere to the teachings of the Catholic Church. So the Protestants started to interpret the bible on their own. They no longer recognize the teaching authority of the Pope. St. Peter was the first Pope. Catholics believe in the Pope and the bishops. The bishops are the successors of the apostles. Protestants or Christians do not recognize the successors of the apostolic tradition. But Catholics are Christians so someday we pray for the unity of Catholics and Christians. Catholics also believe Mary is the mother of God. We also believe the Eucharist is the real Body of Christ.

I don't know who Christain is. But Catholic and Christian are the same. No difference. It's just that the Catholics have some information that the other six Churches don't have. It'll be all right.

It seems there is a huge difference. The Lord will destroy the catholic Church during the great tribulation for the reasons given in Revelations Ch.17 V1-9

Big difference. Let's me break it down.

Catholics believe God is a trinity. Christians believe that Jehovah alone is the Most High. (Ps. 83:18) Jesus is the Son of God, not God. (John 10:36; Luke 1:35)

Catholics go to war. Christians obey Jesus' words to "love your enemies and to pray for those persecuting you." (Matt. 5:44) True Christians do not participate in ANY wars.

Catholics call their ministers "Father." True Christians obey Jesus' words: "Do not call anyone your father on earth, " using the word as a religious title. Matt. 23:9

Catholics celebrate pagan holidays, like Easter, Christmas, and Halloween. True Christians shun such observances, preferring to worship God with "spirit and truth." John 4:24.

Catholics venerate the cross, even though it is a pagan symbol that predates Christianity by thousands of years. True Christians shun anything that is involved in false religion.

There is more, but I will stop here.

Catholics do not believe in hell. They believe in purgatory. Christians believe that once you die, you either go to heaven or hell depending upon whether or not you accepted Jesus Christ.

Just more sectarian division within the same religion caused by the religion itself. Religion is by nature divisive and exclusive and this is just another example of it.
