What do you think it is saying?

Where are Abraham, Issac, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, Ruth, David, Solomon, Elijah, Noah, Job, Aaron, Boaz, Eli, Samuel, Hosea, Amos, Elisha, Isaiah, Habakkuk, Daniel, and all the rest of the faithful Pre-Christ jews? I don't recall them expressing their belief in Christ.

Does this mean that maybe, just maybe, there ARE folks out there that God brings home that do not expressly place their faith in Christ?

Instead of curing heart disease, cancer, ending birth defects and infant mortality....he used his magic to curse a fig tree, filled pigs with demons and conjured up a jug of wine. Isn't that an incredible waste of omnipotence?

What if Jesus Christ (pbuh) appeared to you and said you were going to die in 2 days. In those 2 days, he says that you have to reject all of your prior thoughts that he is the Son of God and your Savior and to believe in the Islamic faith in order to get into Heaven (basically asking you to become a Muslim).

Would you do it?

Does the bible really state that the universe is only 6100 years old? No answers without scripture please. I personally have never seen this in the chapters I have read, but I am no bible scholar.

Early Christian attitudes?: (Written by non-Christian historians before the New Testament was written)

1. If you hurt me, I will forgive you.
2. If I have hurt you, I am sorry.
3. If I am nice to you, I will go to Heaven.

I posted these three precepts in an earlier post, and;

Some Christian lady wrote me and screamed at me saying, "Nice people don't go to Heaven, only Christians go to Heaven".

How do the above 3 guidelines relate to you belief system? Are you saved because you believe in Jesus' teachings. Did he teach you to be a nice person? If you are not saved because of his teachings, then how can you say you believe in him? It seems if you believe in someone, you will believe what he tells you ?

If someone said to you, "I am the way to Heaven", would you not ask that person for instructions. Jesus gave us about 100 instructions of how to live our lives and go to Heaven. Do you believe in him? Have you read his instructions.

....living there If they were 'wanderers' for so long a period of time, why haven't they all flocked to Israel as we know it today? Jewish people live in all parts of the world, is that not true? And please do not preface what you have to say by offering that they have a right to live where they want. Because if that were true, then the Palestinians have a right to live in Israel also.

For those who try to prove the Bible as wrong by stating that Cain couldn't have gotten his wife because he and Abel were the only children of Adam and Eve. I'll make this easy...

1. Adam and Eve initially had 2 sons: Cain and Abel
2.Abel sacrificed the best of what he had while Cain just gave 'whatever'. God wants 100% of us. when we give less, we leave an opening for Satan to attack. (which is what he told Cain)
3.Cain didn't listen, and became jealous of Abel to the point he killed him.
4.Cain lied to God, which portrays characteristics of Satan (reference how Satan used the serpent to lie to Eve in the previous chapter).
5.Since Cain chose to lie, God cursed him to wonder the earth aimlessly.
6.Later, Adam and Eve had Seth (Abel's replacements). Many other children followed Seth (not to mention his own).
7.These children grew and moved around. one city built was Nod.
8.Many years later, Cain came across Nod, where he found his wife.

To be continued

I'm a language student.

One day, i asked my (Buddhist) tutor to read some scripture on a tape for me to practice correct pronounciation and to memorize. He first read Eph 5:13 and then his eyes teared up and he couldn't speak. He recovered and said, "that is very beautiful"
After that I had him read Luke 4:18-19. In the third phrase his eyes, again, filled up, couldn't speak and this time he actually slumped over and almost laid his head down.
After he recovered and finished the recording, he said, "this is something we really like; it makes us very happy" (rough translation)
What was happening? Any ideas?
After this day he returned home to plant rice. When he returned he had new strings on his wrist; this is something done to "call the spirit of self confidence back"
This was 9 months ago. For scripture visit www.biblegateway.org

Many people seem to use this forum to mock and attack religion and spirituality rather than to explore and understand it. Why not go to churches, temples, mosques, and synagogues to do that? Is it because they would lose their anonymity and their courage and audacity along with it? How is the intolerance of some people for religion different than the intolerance of religious fundamentalists? Are both forms of intolerance in opposition to basic human liberties? Are both obstacles to all of us living together peacefully?
