Was Jesus God? I always learned that he was the Son of God, but after studying the bible more in depth it seems that I understand that he IS God. I'm confused, what's up with that? So who do you pray to, Jesus or God?

Note to Atheists: Not us humans otherwise how would we have been created or who would have created he so called "Big Bang" theory?

Note to Christians: I don't how anyone or anything can create itself, if it doesn't exist in the first place. So how can God just create Himself?

Hello my fellow Christians..lately i've been finding myself struggling with being single and no one to share my life with. I have been very strong minded in this area before but lately i don't know why it just seems as if its bringing me down. I have always been about woman empowerment and have prouded myself on being a single independent woman! Trust me its not cause V-day is tomorrow its been for a couple of weeks now. I have turned to the Bible and gone to church but just can't seem to snap out of it! Any suggestions or words of encouragement please!!!

This question is really only directed to those who were once theists. What I'm really wondering is this. Is science the foundation of your Atheism or is it dislike of the Bible?

BTW, I know that creation scientists are in the minority.

If there were genuine useful truth within the Bible, but it were not entirely so, would you cease being a Christian? Would you find a different way to have a similar faith?

(Humor me here. I am asking a hypthetical question and I wonder how much it would effect your faith.)

I know some of you are going to say: By some aliens. Then who created those aliens?

OR

By the Big Bang. Who made the Big Bang?

So I'd like to hear your opinions on how we were created if God didn't exist.

This was the question:
Do Atheists celebrate any Holidays?

I got many rude and sarcastic remarks back. Why? I really didn't know and I really wondered. The question was worded exactly as above, I see no rude overtones to it. What is with that?

Kadir

Ive fallen into a desert of the earth

Im not enough for me

Im not the solution for me

Im not the friend of me

My incapacity is eternal

My enemies numerous

My poverty limitless

Just because You exist, I shant be afraid of nothingness

Just because youre Capable, I shant be ashamed of my incapacity

Just because youre Merciful, I shant be bothered by my poverty

Aid my helplessness with your Might

Rescue my poverty with your Mercy

I'm not trying to justify the people who smack others over the head with their religion, but think about this for a second: if you truly believed that people were going to Hell because they didn't believe in your religion, wouldn't you want to persuade them to join? It seems like the only benevolent option; all other options are just lazy and self-centered, provided you truly believe what you say.

This is intended to provide a level of alterity for those saying that people shouldn't try to convert you to their religions. If you were a follower of a religion with these tenants, what would you do?

If transfiguration is possible and all the miracles in the bible are true then evolution would be a simple matter for god. If he can change water to wine, transform a staff into a serpent and raise people from the dead then god can just as easily perform an Evolution.

Main question is; What is the name of this type theology which is the antithesis of the teachings of Christ?

Experts state that the origin of Saint Valentine, was that he is a Roman who was martyred for refusing to give up Christianity. He died on February 14, 269 A.D., the same day that had been devoted to love lotteries. Other aspects of the story say that Saint Valentine served as a priest at the temple during the reign of Emperor Claudius. Legend also says that St. Valentine left a farewell note for the jailer's daughter, who had become his friend, and signed it "From Your Valentine".

In Sept. 2005, the Church of England endorsed the release of this Bible. It is a condenced form of the Bible, but it leaves out, as one reviewer put it, all those "boring bits." But is it accurate? It completely omits God's name. Section one states that God created heaven and earth over a period of 6 days. Genesis 1:1 says: In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth, and then it goes on to describe further acts of creation over a period of six days. It describes Satan as one of God's servants when the word Satan means Resister. It says that Rome is Babylon the Great, when the real Bible never says this. In the parable of the sheep and the goats, it says that Jesus favors those who help anyone. the real Bible said that he blesses those who do good to his footstep followers...his brothers. These are just a few indiscrepancies...if given the choice, would you choose it over the complete Bible?

Why are people soooooooooo touchy on this site? I'm all for different views and even a good debate but why do people have to attack everything or turn everything into a debate? This is the question I asked.

I was speaking to people that believe in heaven. I wanted to share these beautiful pictures with whoever wanted to see them. If someone doesn't believe in heaven then why answer it just to start an argument? Why do people have to always voice negativity? There are 10,000 other questions on here that were debate questions. The question wasn't asking if people believed in heaven. Can't people ever just let an issue slide for even one question?

Yahoo Answer is a really wonderful. Here for example we are interested in asking and answering religious and spiritual issues, right?
Then first, I don't understand atheists (of course not all!!!because I've notice there are people who came here to discuss) why they come here with their insults, but not they alone!
I like reading peoples commenta and learn more about other religions..but all that with RESPECT! I like when people ask about my religion (Islam) ,about things they cannot understand because it is normal, I for example love to read about Christanity and Judaism and I try to understand, but some are here just to spread hate.
If you don't need to learn more, don't.. but show just a little respect by staying silent.
