I'm not trying to justify the people who smack others over the head with their religion, but think about this for a second: if you truly believed that people were going to Hell because they didn't believe in your religion, wouldn't you want to persuade them to join? It seems like the only benevolent option; all other options are just lazy and self-centered, provided you truly believe what you say.

This is intended to provide a level of alterity for those saying that people shouldn't try to convert you to their religions. If you were a follower of a religion with these tenants, what would you do?

The only person who truly understood the question is Lokasenna, so here's my response to him:

If it's truly a choice whether to accept a life of servitude to him in return for eternal bliss, I don't see what the problem is. If He truly loves you, why not love Him?

Also, if He has just reasons for sending people to Hell, what about then?

These aren't intended to be mocking questions, in case you took them that way -- I really mean them.

Correction: the only person who understood at the time when I started adding more info was Loka.

There is nothing I can do. I can't make anyone do anything.

I am a follower of Christianity, and that is what I believe.
I think that's a good question, because a lot of people don't really understand why Christians are ALWAYS talking about it.
I don't talk about Christianity if someone makes it clear they don't want to, and I don't bring it up with everyone I meet. I just try to give them at least the OPTION of hearing it. I like to share with them if they want to hear it, but if not I leave them alone.

I'd pray and ask God for Guidance first...I believe in God, Christ and the Holy Spirit...God will give me the words and scriptures, so I can speak to non-believers...Contrary to what most believe, I do not want anyone going to Hell, not because it might make me look good, but because I truly want everyone to have everlasting peace and happiness in Heaven. The final choice will be theirs to make, that is true free will, the ultimate act of Love...God Bless!!

Belief is a personal thing, unless someone has a willing heart they will never accept the Word of God.

Matthew 13
40"As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age. 41The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. 42They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 43Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.

First off, to me, religion is a byproduct of being a Christian or being Christ like. I try to help people believe in Jesus Christ and God the Father. It is not an easy task. I will talk to people in what I believe and what will happen to them if they choose not to believe.
It's not, people are going to hell because they don't believe in my religion, it's they will go to hell (the lake of Fire for eternity) if they don't believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I could quote scripture but once again it is trying to get people to believe in what they are going to read.

Well I thought I understood the question.
In a shorter version, I would try to help people understand why they should believe in God an Jesus Christ. If they choose not to believe then that is their choice. God gave us free will so we may make up our own minds.
If this still isn't what you are looking for please try rewording the question.

The thing is though...doing it for reasons that they "care" doesn't hold up well when you're a perfect stranger that they couldn't give a damn otherwise. Don't care what else your life it made of, what hardships you might have, just "accept their Jesus" because they say so. With that, it's just intrusive and rude to others beliefs.

Since Christians are so fond of quoting scripture try these:
Mathews 25:31-46
Romans 2::5-11
Corintians 5::2
Rev 20:12,13
We non Christians are not exactly "Bible Illiterate".

I do believe exactly what you say. Witnessing to them is what we do. Tell them of the truths found in the Bible. If they do not want to hear it, then leave them alone. No sense casting pearls ( God's truth) before swine (unbelievers).

I guess I would give up my job, sell my possessions, and become a missionary, spending my life to advance the kingdom of God.

That's exactly what I did. :-)

Warn people of what is going to happen to them. It is not that I would be trying to convert them but because I care about them. If they choose not to listen then they will have no one to blame but themselves when they are judged by God. They have been warned.
