Now this may sound stupid, but I have been told that if you die with your eyes open that means you went to hell and if you die with them closed "sort of in a sleeping state" that you have gone to heaven. I don't personally believe this but I was just kind of curious!

Clinical depression not going away. What I have felt for these last five years is indescribable. I often feel like body is eating itself alive. I often have trouble just moving, my body tenses up, it is the closest thing to walking death I think one could experience while still alive.

All I want is, if there is a creator, a chance to see him. I've been through things all throughout my life that most people will never have to go through, and most could never imagine. I've made it 21 years, but I don't know if I will be able to make it 22. Which God should I ask for forgiveness?

Somewhere in the world stands a great mountain. At the bottom of this mountain sits a person purposely facing away from it so that the mountain appears not to exist--This is an Atheist.

There is another person standing beside the one seated. This person sees the mountain, but refuses to put forth the exertion necessary to find out if it is real-- This is an Agnostic.

On the sloping side of the mountain are those casually climbing, but always in competition with the other climbers. These people always keep their eyes on the path below their feet so they will not stumble and fall behind those whose opinion they covet. They never allow any other to get higher than them as they move with studied order toward a goal that they believe is already fully comprehended--These are those of the "organized religions."

Hurtling over the edge of the cliff on the other side of the summit of the mountain is another person. This person ran all the way to the summit with both eyes shut, so that they could deny the existence of others on the mountain. This person clutches a book or scroll tightly in both hands, so that no other can ever be touched or guided by those hands. From the mouth of this person comes a constant stream of quotations from the writings of others on the mountain; so intent are they, that should their concept of The Creator speak, the words would not be heard--This is the fundamentalist.

Near the summit of the mountain is a ragged person, who hurries upward, but is constantly stumbling, stubbing a toe or bouncing a nose off a solid stone wall. This person seemingly ignores the offered guidance of those behind in the large groups, because both eyes and ears are searching upward for some guidance from whatever has created the abilities of thought and reason--This searcher is one of Seekers.

The Mountain is always there. Each must choose.

of a heretic... look back into history and then see all those gnostics who claimed to be the true christians what makes you any different... just because you interpret the bible in your own way how do you think the bible got to you ... how do you know since the church is evil didn't just make up the bible... you might say that the Holy Spirit lead it through the evil but how do you know it was not just all made up? ... sorry for the random rant but honestly who are you to tell someone theyre not christian just because your christian just because you dislike their way of belief all you go around saying a christian is one who beliefs an accepts in Jesus... that's exactly what we catholics do... just because you learned to hate us doesn't mean you have to continue ... just please don't go around calling us non-christian because that is just stupidity.

I really would like to learn something here.
Isn't there actually proof of evolution? Creationism? Is it even possible?
I guess I'm just skeptical, but if you're given facts and a story, which are you more likely to believe?

It isn't physically possible for any life form to have created this universe, the stars, other universes, the sun, moon, and planets. Is it? IS IT?? Please elaborate!!

Thanks for the info Paladin and Gratval. So here goes round 2. Wiki states, "Thus the immediate descendants of all female Jews (even apostates) are still considered to be Jews, as are those of all her female descendants. Even those descendants who are not aware they are Jews, or practice a faith other than Judaism, are technically still Jews, as long as they come from an unbroken female line of descent."
So if I look 20 generations ago, if any of my female ancestors are jewish, all of her female children are jewish (whether they know it or not), and all their female children are jewish, etc.etc. And even though the maternity line may die out in those 20 generations, all you need to start it up again is to have any male descendent to mary a female jew to start it allover again. Again, by my math, that makes pretty much everyone a jew, whether they know it or not (1,048,576 ancestors in the 20th generation is an awful lot, and that's not even going back that far).

Tomorrow is opening night of the production I've been working on since November. Even though I barely have any experience in theater, I somehow landed the leading role in this show. I'm so freaking nervous. Would you please pray that the divine powers (whatever they may be in your specific faith) be with me tomorrow night? Thank you in advance! Blessed Be.

I mean, for people who truly believe in God, Satan, heaven, hell, sin, repentance, etc etc etc... is Hell really a viable option? Could you ever choose to condemn yourself? Do you feel obligated to do what it takes to keep yourself out of Hell?

Answer honestly, now.

5-17 - In blasphemy indeed are those that say that God is Christ the son of Mary. say: who then hath the least power against God, if his will were to destroy Christ the son of Mary, his mother, and all every one that is on the earth? for to God belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between. he createth what he pleaseth. for God hath power over all things.

I felt scard and helpless, I had my bible under my pillow but it didn't help much, didnt sleep last night at all....

why do you care or look down on people who don't belive in your ways? does god, tell you that you should try to ridicule people or change people? i have no clue what the bible says, because i have never read it .

why can't you focus all your engery into yourself, maybe you can actually achieve true happiness, you know that warm feeling in your heart.
i don't go to church but i am not an athesist BUT i am into zen and ki (inner spirit, so on and so forth) that makes me a bad person in your view. why? i am pretty happy most of the time, i have alot going for me, especially with my career and acdemica. i try to make the right choices, and i am a descent person. so why is thing wrong in your perspective?
