Depends on your definition of Christian. Most non-Catholic Christian denominations accept Catholics as Christians. A very few do not.
A dictionary would say that a Christian is someone professing belief in Jesus as Christ or following the religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus.
Catholics would fit this definition.
In the Nicene creed, from 325 A.D., Catholics profess:
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, one in being with the Father.
Through Him all things were made.
For us and our salvation He came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit, He was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man.
For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate; He suffered, died, and was buried.
On the third day He rose again in fulfillment of the scriptures: He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.
We accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. We are baptized as Jesus commanded in Matthew 28:19, "in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit."
We truly are spiritually "born again," we just don't usually use those words.
With love in Christ.

The definition of a cult is a small group of individuals in the margins of society professing the same beliefs, usually in seclusion. The Catholic Church is a large body of people more than a billion in number who openly and publicly profess belief in the Risen Jesus Christ. A Christian is a person who professes his/her belief in Jesus Christ. Catholics profess in every Mass the Nicene / Apostolic Creed that Jesus is the Son of God, the Second Person of the Holy Trinity. The life of the Church centers and revolves around the person of Jesus Christ. Jesus founded the Catholic Church before he ascended into heaven when he said "thou are Peter and on this Rock I will build my Church." That Church is the same 2000 years later. The Catholic Church is the sole reason Christianity survives till this day. It has a mission to baptize all nations and teach them the Gospel of Jesus' salvation. The Church is also a human institution prone to human weakness. Catholics make sins as do all men. But the doctrines and theology of the Church are based on Sacred Scripture and Christ's teachings. Let the first among you who have not sinned cast the first stone. Judge not lest ye not be judged. There are thousands of so called "Christian" sects , denominations, and cults but the Roman Catholic Church has remained ONE, Holy, Catholic, And Apostolic. The same since Jesus founded her 2000 years ago. To God be the Glory!

The term Jew is used in at least two senses in Scripture: to refer to those who are ethnically Jews and to those who are religiously Jews. Jesus was a Jew in both senses. In fact, he completed the Jewish religion by serving as the Messiah (Christ) whom the prophets had long foretold.
The completed form of the Jewish religion is known as Christianity, and its adherents are Christians or "followers of the Christ." Unfortunately, many people who were ethnically Jewish did not recognize Jesus’ role as Messiah and so did not accept Christianity, the completed form of Judaism. Instead, they stayed with a partial, incomplete form of Judaism. Other Jews (the apostles and their followers) did recognize that Jesus was the Messiah and embraced the new, completed form of Judaism.
Shortly thereafter it was recognized that one could be a follower of Christ even if one did not ethnically join the Jewish people. Thus the apostles began to make many Gentile converts to the Christian faith. It is thus possible for a person to be a Jew religiously (because he has accepted Christianity, the completed form of the Jewish faith) but not be a Jew ethnically. This is the case with most Christians today.
It is this difference between being a Jew ethnically and religiously that lies behind Paul’s statement in Romans 2:28–29: "For he is not a real Jew who is one outwardly, nor is true circumcision something external and physical. He is a Jew who is one inwardly, and real circumcision is a matter of the heart, spiritual and not literal."
Christians are those who Paul refers to as being inwardly (religiously) Jewish, while non-Christian Jews are those who he refers to as being outwardly (ethnically) Jewish. The former condition, he stresses, is the more important.
Unfortunately, over the course of time some Christians broke away from the Church that Jesus founded, and so a name was needed to distinguish this Church from the ones that broke off from it. Because all the breakaways were particular, local groups, it was decided to call the Church Jesus founded the "universal" (Greek, kataholos = "according to the whole") Church, and thus the name Catholic was applied to it.
That is why Jesus was a Jew and we are Catholics: Jesus came to complete the Jewish religion by creating a Church that would serve as its fulfillment and be open to people of all races, not just ethnic Jews. As Catholics, we are those who have accepted the fulfillment of the Jewish faith by joining the Church that Jesus founded.

catholicism teaches you are a god, the god, and jesus christ if you're a catholic
"Let us rejoice then and give thanks that we have become not only Christians, but Christ himself. Marvel and rejoice: we have become Christ." Pg. 210, #795
Wow! Notice that Catholics are not merely Christians, they have become "Christ himself."
"My church cannot possibly teach this," Catholics often argue. But two additional catechism quotes further prove this is official Catholic doctrine.
"For the Son of man became man so that we might become God." Pg. 116, #460
"The only-begotten Son of God, wanting to make us sharers in his divinity, assumed our nature, so that he, made man, might make men gods." Pg. 116, #460
but the bible teaches otherwise "… I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me," Isaiah 46:9

The entire world would have you believe they are Christian.
HISTORY says the same.
BUT.....
To be a Christian means: to follow Christ and HIS teachings, to become Christ-like (as referring to attaining to a life of sancification by the ministry of the person of the HOLY SPIRIT), to do what Jesus says we aught and to NOT DO that which HE says we aught NOT. HIS WAYS ARE HIGHER THAN OURS, and so are HIS THOUGHTS HIGHER THAN OUR OWN>
That being said~ The CHRISTIAN has been blamed unscrupulously thru out time for the Crusades--which were soley of Catholic origin.
In my 28 yrs, I have only EVER KNOW Catholicism to be our more modern day Pharisee and Saducees attempt to not let TRUTH, the "allowing" of the commoners (laypeople/congregation/all believers) to even read the BIBLE for themselves. Now, lookie here at what has been coming to LIGHT in the last few years....unending PEDOPHILIA coming out of the woodwork....the ones that the people take their confessions TO, are not on trial and confessing to secular LAW!~~~~As anyone can know by reading ANY of my past answers.....I HIGHLY REFUTE CATHOLICISM as anything remotely NEAR TRUE CHRISTIANITY. Its foundation was built upon GREED, the LOVE OF MONEY, and the ULTIMATE causes of having the love and acceptance of MAN and NOT OF GOD. IT is all about POWER, and the DEVIL IS IN THE DETAILS OF THIS CULT.
Many Catholic believers are unfulfilled spiritually, because it is still very much about legalism, constant confession to the point of beating ones self up continuously if they fall short of the glory of GOD and HIS call upon us all, as individuals....to seek HIM, and worship HIM IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH!!!!
I have met many wonderful Catholic people, but this does not take away from the fact that the doctrine they teach is ALL WRONG in the GOOD BOOK!~
When a person truly wishes to turn their life and faith, trust and obedience....over to Christ, the RISEN REDEEMER OF ALL WHO WILL ACCEPT THAT HE IS GOD IN THE FLESH, did walk the soil of this earth we live in, did perform miracles, taught us to not seek revenge, but rather to LOVE OUR ENEMIES (not kill them aka Crusades)...Jesus did die a brutal death, one that HE could have forsaken, and chose SELF over the souls of trillions.....while Im at it.....See for yourself, that in the last hours before the chief priests and Pharisees where led to HIM by JUDAS (betreayed by a kiss :*( He cried out to His heavenly Father "Let, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me!"///////THIS IS SOLID PROOF of His humanity,.....yet HE quickly re-affirmed that THIS MOMENT was the entire CULMINATION, THE WHOLE REASON FOR HIS BIRTH, LIFE AND MINISTRY.
ON THE CROSS, JESUS DEFEATED DEATH.
ON THE CROSS HE DEFEATED THE "POWER OF SIN TO OVERTAKE A HUMAN"---IN CHRIST ALONE CAN WE KNOW THAT WITH A DAILY WALK WITH HIM, CONSTANT FELLOWSHIP AND PRAYER, AND THE READING AND STUDYIING OF HIS WORD.....CAN WE NOW BEGIN TO BE DELIVERED BY THE SIN WHICH
SO
EASILY
BESETS
US......
"OUR SPIRIT IS WILLING, BUT OUR FLESH IS WEAK!"
APART FROM THE MINISTRY OF THE PROMISED "HELPER" THAT JESUS LEFT FOR ALL WHO TRULY ACCEPT HIM AS THEIR PERSONAL LORD, WILL BE INDWELT WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT, APART FROM THIS, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO EVEN LIVE THE CHRISTIAN LIFE. WE ARE NOT EQUIPPED IN ANY SENSE TO BATTLE OUR OWN DEMONS IF WE HAVE NO CONNECTION TO OUR LIFESOURCE; AKA THE HOLY SPIRIT GOD ALMIGHTY JESUS CHRIST!!!!
jESUS SPOKE HIS FINAL WORDS TO ALL OF US IN THE BOOK OF REVELATION, AND HE IN THAT---DECLARED THAT CURSES WILL BE ADDED UPON THOSE WHO TAKE AWAY FROM, OR ALTER THE LIVING WORD OF GOD.
THE POPE, ON MANY OCCASSIONS.....(meaning, many different ones thru time)...have declared that there is no higher authority than that of the pope. WRONG.
and last but not least.....the VERY IDEA of going weekly or daily or what have you.....to "confession"...IS ENTIRELY UNSCRIPTURAL. Whilst the Word of GOD does indeed say that we are to confess our sins to one another....it never was to be construed as to build elaborate and decorative booths, were SINNERS not unlike ourselves, dresses in the filth that is "priestly garb"//// sits on the other side, veiled......learning all your inner obstacles, sins, hidden hurts.....ETC....and DEEMS HIMSELF WORTHY THRU YOUR SPILLING OF YOUR GUTS to (once again, a HUMAN...who is fallible and even so, UNABLE to FORGIVE your sin...........ITS ALL WRONG>?
How many Catholic people beat themselves up, trying to walk humbly and in obedience to our Holy LOVING GOD...are OVERWHELMED with a spirit of CONDEMNATION bc' of these cath. practices.
And how about the whole name issue?
THE HOLY BIBLE IS CLEAR, VERY CLEAR.....THAT WE ARE TO NOT CALL ANY MAN ON THIS EARTH BY THE TITLE OF "FATHER"//////// AND YET/////// HOW DO THEM CATHS ADDRESS THEIR LEADER: F A T H E R!!!!!!
CATHOLICS LIKEWISE, PUT WAYYYYYYY TOOO MUCH
EMPHASIS UPON MARY.
HOW CAN THEY NOT SEE THAT SHE WAS "JUST A VESSEL".....USED BY THE LORD, TO HOLD IN HER WOMB OUR SAVIOR~CHRIST JESUS.
I DO NOT PORTRAY ANY DISREGARD FOR MARY: MOTHER OF JESUS. SHE WAS HIGHLY FAVORED, BLESSED AND PURE. SHE WAS PERSONALLY HAND PICKED TO CARRY OUR INCARNATE GOD IN HER BLESSED WOMB......SHE LIKEWISE HELD TITLE TO NONE OTHER~MOTHER, KEEPER, OVERSEER, PROTECTOR....OF BABY JESUS, INFANT JESUS TODDLER JESUS, YOUNG BOY JESUS, MAN JESUS, HEALER AND SAVIOR OF ALL OF MANKIND FOR THE PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE SINS WHICH NEEDED HIM.
.............EVEN STILL FOLKS, SHE WAS BUT A VESSEL,
I THEREFORE RENDER BY DISCERNMENT OF THE LIVING WORD OF GOD,
THAT CATHOLICISM IS FALSEHOOD IN MANY, MANY FORMS. SATAN HAS HAD HIS HAND ON THIS FOR CENTURIES, AND PEOPLE NEED TO QUIT BLAMING THE CRUSADES AND ALL OTHER BS, ON REAL, TRUE, GOD LOVING, CHRIST FOLLOWING, LIFE LIVING CHRISTIANS IN THE RIGHT WILL OF GOD!
SORRY FOR THE BOOK OF AN ANSWER,
ITS A TOUCHY SUBJECT FOR ME.
GOD BLESS YOU.........VERY GOOD QUESTION!~~
IN CHRIST,
^^7^^
